Solid Boot for the Price

I've been wanting a pair of boots in this style for awhile but wasn't wanting to dish out RedWings or Danner money. The boots fit as expected ( I normally wear a 9.5 in boots and 10 in running shoes so went with a 9.5.

Based on other reviews, I went ahead and bought after-market laces and insoles (though the insoles that came in them were comfortable for walking around in).

For laces, I found some on Amazon from a company called Mercury + Maia and they have kevlar in them. I with with a red & black pair and they work wonderfully together.

For insoles, I found a pair of Avia gel and memory foam insoles with arch support at a Marshalls for $8.

I also took sole Saddle Soap to them to condition the leather. I typically do this will all of my leather boots/shoes at least every other month. Only takes a few minutes.

The only reason I didn't give these 5 stars is because the tongue tends to slip towards the outside of my foot and doesn't center quite like it should. Seems like a fairly easy design flaw to correct in future versions of the boot.
Just buy them

These being my first work boots, im a dr martens guy, i got to say im more than happy about these boots. They look awesome, already got people asking me where and how much! They are made of really good materials, look resistant and are extremely comfortable. The only thing is they are a lil bit big, not so much as to return them, im normally a 10 in my sneakers and regular shoes (martens run a different size) and these ones are like less than half a size bigger. So nothing to worry, im just not in the US currently so i wont be bothered with returning them. Im just happy to use them!
Make sure to buy a full size smaller.

I really want to like these boots but I've only had them for a week and I don't see them lasting very long. I wish I wouldn't have wasted my time polishing beeswax into them. Boots cane with a stain on the off white base of the shoe like someome had been walking around in them, which is fine but pretty rude. My biggest complaint though is how cheap and pathetic the laces are. I've worn the boots twice and one lace is already tearing. Keep in mind Im just walking to and from class, I'm not using them in a construction yard or a frac site.
Everyone mentions buying atleast a full size smaller than normal- SOLID ADVICE GUYS! I normally wear a 12- 11.5 extra wide and decided to get these in an 11, honestly a 10.5 probably would have fit fine once broken in.
Anyways I really want to like these boots but with the absolutely pathetic laces and pre-existing stains on base and leather, I'm not sure these boots are going to get any better than 3 stars, which I think is pretty generous.
Great boots

I just got my golden fox boots in today. I love them they are very nice boots and out of the box comfy. The leather will require some break in but that's fine because the boots are great quality as far as I can tell. The wedge soles are firm but have plenty of toe room and support but I'm flat footed and don't require arch support so these are perfect for me. The reason for four stars is the tongue. The tongue is padded and looks and feels great but simply isn't wide enough. I will posts pics in a while when I get ready but once tied the tongue doesn't cover the entire front part of my foot it is a little annoying but manageable. I am happy with my boots.
Edit 3-7-2017
I have now wore these boots for a full month and I have bought myself some sof sole memory foam insoles and I like the boots. The tongue did take some getting used to. On the sides of the tongue where they connect it to the two sides of the boot there seems to be an excess of leather or material or maybe it's just too thick? But either way more used to the tongue and it doesn't hurt at all but during my first couple of weeks the tongue did hurt my foot if I tied them too tight. I have since oiled the boots twice in the past month and I will say the leather acts much differently than most boots I have owned. These boots get so much softer and nicer with each oil I am very happy with my purchase my only complaint is how the tongue could have been wider and solved some the problems associated with it.
Great looking, great value for money

I had much the same experience as many previous reviewers. I ordered a pair in size 9. Normally I wear a 9.5 in Redwings as well as most of the different military boots I've worn over the years. With the "stock" footbed inserts installed the size 9s were about a half size too big. As another reviewer wrote, I too swapped in some Redwing orthotic inserts and the fit was spot on the money. There is still ample room from top to bottom which is fine, I like a bit of wiggle room.

The boot construction seems solid and the leather is quite soft even initially. They are comfortable almost right away. Wearing them, I'm quite surprised how light weight they are. I wear Redwing steel toe loggers for work and have for most of my life. When I'm not working, I wear Doc Maertens pretty much all winter long. These feel like slippers in comparison.

I have no real need for these as work boots and homestly I bought them solely as casual wear. I gotta comment that I was sceptical until Inread a very entertaining review about these boots. That and these were all the rage back in the early 70s when I about 5 years old....45 years later somehow they seem to be fashionable again....only this time I got a pair before they went out of style!!

If you are on the fence about getting a pair, you won't be disappointed. I can't really add anything that hasn't already been said. For a $70 boot, you could do a whole lot worse but not any better.

I placed my order on a Sunday, got the notice the boots had shipped on Monday and they were at my door by Wednesday (today). Can't beat that for service....they weren't scheduled to arrive until Monday or Tuesday next week. What are waiting for? These boots are great looking and a great value....whether your jeans have bedazzled pockets or not.
