The light portion is great. The hardware is not strong enough for my 120 lb+ dogs. I replaced the snaps with more robust ones, even though I never fastened a leash. The dogs broke the snaps just playing. I would never attach my leash to the harness as it is not strong enough for large dogs. But my dogs have collars so I do not need to attach a leash.
Everyone asks me where I got the lights. The lights are great! I have shaggy dogs and lighted collars are not good enough as they get buried in all the hair. This harness is visible from most directions except directly head on. An extra flasher on the collar, below their chins, fixes this issue.
I walk my dogs off leash in the dark, and often in the rain, daily. This is helpful, especially for seeing where they stop and poo! I just must be mindful that the dogs do not sneak off for a swim as the lights will likely not survive a dip in the ocean.

The LightHound Dog Vest is one of the best investments I have ever made for my pups. I work the overnight shift from home so I walk my two dogs several times a night in the dark. I have been stalking this invention for months but was weary to make the investment because of the price. I wanted to wait until I saw more reviews and I am so glad that we finally decided to go for it! It was worth every penny!!

We live in a rural community in Maine and there are not a lot of street lights, it is dark more often than light this time of year and the weather is crazy with low visibility. When they are wearing their LightHounds I can walk with confidence knowing that my pups can be seen and can breathe a sigh of relief as I watch the cars move over and slow way down to make room for us much more than ever before even with the blinking leashes we had.

The batteries last over 12 hours with the fast blinking mode between charges and the charge time is only a couple of hours.

I don't attach their leashes directly to the harness because they both pull like crazy when they see cats, leaves, dust bunnies, etc. I attach their leashes to their regular harnesses and put the LightHound over their heavy duty harness.

We haven't had any problems with slippage on the harness and both adjusted nicely to fit the girls. Our Shadow dog is thick around the waist with a small neck so I was a little worried but there are separte adjustments so we were able to get the perfect fit.

There has not been one person walking by us that hasn't commented on how amazing the harness is and how well they can see us. We have literally had cars stop while driving by to ask where we got them so that they could order one for their dogs and a police officer patrolling stopped to talk with us the other night saying how impressed he was with your product. He said that he could see us from quite a far distance away and had never seen anything like the LightHound.

I have not been paid and did not receive any kind of discount for writing this review. We have had the harnesses for a month now and I walk them around 2 hours total per day. I will be uploading a video soon to show their harnesses in action. I highly recommend this product.

I purchased this item on Black Friday because it was down to $49.99. I still thought it was really expensive- but I run and walk a lot at night with my dog and I want to make sure that she is safe. I received the item and was disappointed with the design. It seems like it can really only be used as a vest and not so much a harness for walking (my dog can pull sometimes so she needs a harness that works as a harness). I received an email from Simon- one of the designers of the harness asking how I liked the product. I told him that I liked it (I LOVE how bright it is, how cool it is, and how there's TONS of choices between solid colors and different patterns of changing colors that you can choose from- that part is awesome). I also expressed that I thought it was really way too expensive. Especially considering you can buy LED collars for dogs on Amazon for around $5. Then I told him that I was also disappointed that it couldn't be used as a harness itself- and for the price- at the very minimum it should function as a harness too. Simon got back to me almost immediately and reassured me that yes, it could be used as a harness. The design team made up of engineers had tested it to hold up to 350 pounds. He also stated that the cost purely came from the materials used and they were all high end materials that came from the U.S. I still feel it's too expensive- but ok. I then started to use the harness without my dog's own harness underneath this one (so I was just using the LightHound). At first it was working well and I was surprised because my dog pulled less on this harness than she did her own. After about 18 times of using it though, I was out for an evening walk and the harness broke. The stitching that held one of the clips came undone and rendered the harness totally useless. I was extremely frustrated at this point- especially considering I was out with my dog when this happened. Luckily she was ok with just having the leash on her collar. I emailed Simon and expressed my frustration that he had assured me the harness would function as a harness and that it didn't- it broke after 18 uses. Simon got back to me and apologized and offered to replace the harness.

So the harness is not without it's flaws. A) It's super pricey- even when on sale. B) The stitching can come undone- maybe I just had a dud one (let's hope!) But something to look out for. I do still really love the brightness of the harness. I feel like $34.99 would be a much more reasonable price for it though.

This is the best, and brightest, light up AND reflective harness I have purchased. This harness allows me to clearly see where my dog is in the backyard at night as well as on walks near busy street. The price might seem high compared to other light up harnesses available on Amazon, but don't let that get in the way of your pets safety. These are rechargeable and washable. The quality is on point!

I have bought the typical orange and yellow neon reflective vests in the past for my dogs, with the reflective piping built into them, but they do not compare to this.

The neon colors are bright and easy to see at night. The harness has the ability to flash at different speeds and with different colors for optimal visibility of your pet. There is neon yellow reflective fabric on both sides of the harness accompanied by reflective silver trim all around. Even if the lights run out of charge on the harness, your dog will still be visible when light is shined on them. Yay!

I purchased two larges - one for a lab / Rottweiler and one for a Bernese Mountain dog. They fit well and are at their smallest adjustment for the neck strap with a little bit of wiggle room - I'm glad I didn't get the medium even though their measurements suggested that would be the appropriate size.

Note: This harness is not a substitute for a collar. There is no hook to attach a leash and I wouldn't recommend using it to attach any kind of lead.

Just did a 5 mile run with my dog and the vest was perfect. Easily visible from all sides. The darker the night the brighter it looks. 8 colors and 6 color changing patterns. This thing rocks. My Choc Lab was invisible at night. Not any more. I love it. Kinda pricey was my first thought... Get what you pay for. Well designed.
