Great for the price! Built with noobies in mind
Ryan✓ Verified PurchaseJanuary 23, 2018
It's everything you'd expect out of a cheap midi, it work's great and it's size is great for the price.
The built in features allow newer producers to create better sounding tracks thanks to the Chord system, arpeggiator, and some customization knobs
You can allow the keyboard to play whole chords in a specific scale, just with the click of 4 buttons.
Only gripe is that the keys feel nothing like an actual piano, they're way squishier, yet stiffer than a piano, if you're transitioning from a piano to this, a little muscle memory adjusting will have to be made for velocities and such.
So far, so good!

I spent 10 of my most formative years playing classical piano. These weren't your average kiddie lessons, they were the grueling hardcore ones Asian tiger parents force their kids into, where you find yourself memorizing 20 pages of Rachmaninoff as a 12 year old whether you like it or not.

This is the first midi keyboard controller I've ever tried, so I don't have anything to compare to. I honestly didn't know what to expect. But I'm very happy with how it feels and sounds when I plug it into GarageBand. All the keys work, and it feels and sounds surprisingly right. I'm particularly impressed with the volume sensitivity and range. There are a lot of people complaining about the firmness of the keys, but like another reviewer said, this shouldn't be problem if you're used to playing an actual piano. I actually like the feel a lot better than the keys on electronic keyboards, which I've always found distractingly soft and flimsy. Time will tell if the quality holds up, but so far, I'm liking it.
A simple MIDI input keyboard
Jake✓ Verified PurchaseMay 30, 2017
Not many features, but a solid MIDI input. Good for portability, but not many uses to bring it around.
The semi-weighted keys feel nicer than the unweighted ones, but a little tough to play fast.

Edit: After less than a year of light use (used it about 6 times), it has completely stopped working. No longer recognized and my computer says it has malfunctioned. I've tried clearing out and re-installing drivers, and hundreds of unpluggings and restarts. Just a brick in my office now. Save your money.
Great prize a lot of functions get use to molasses keys
David✓ Verified PurchaseMay 7, 2017
Almost everything about this keyboard is great well almost great like the buttons and dials for added customization but the velocity function of this keyboard is downright bad and the keys are very tough to press down. Don't expect to play the moonlight sonata on your DAW you can but it won't sound great (unless you edit every individual key manually). Beginner be warn the keys of this keyboard might scare you off seeing as pressing these keys will require more finger strength. But the prize for this keyboard is great and the compact size about 17 inches across and 5 inches from nob to key and around an inch and a half thick makes it compact enough if you plan to make music on the go. The box includes the keyboard (of course) a little handbook for the software installation and the usb cable.
Nice keyboard but uses type C 1.5V batteries and NOT AA batteries
HGWApril 21, 2017
Nice keyboard but BEWARE the manual wrongly says it uses AA batteries -- instead the 9 volt DC power is supplied by six 1.5 volt Type C batteries. However you can power it from a 5V USB either located on computer or one of those 110V/USB transformer plugs.
