Saved my last season
StudentJuly 19, 2017
I got this at the recommendation of my bother. He went an entire season with a labral tear using this brace. I did as well.

I would recommend this brace over the stand-alone ones that attach to your body. The stand-alone ones will elevate your pads awkwardly.

Some considerations for d-line players facing a season with a torn labrum:
I would recommend anyone playing DE to move interior or at least to the side where your bad shoulder is away from the tackle. Never try to rip with your bad shoulder. The rip-motion (pretty much the bread and butter of DE) puts your shoulder in compromising angle and makes it easy to dislocate. I had some close calls on the end (where my shoulder popped out a bit) and was much more comfortable stuffing gaps in the interior.

Perfect fit. As designed my son told me that it was great.
This Brace is a good choice. My son wears one on each shoulder.

My son had a severe labrum tear requiring surgery. We ordered this brace because we were told a sully brace would not help him, as his shoulder was torn out the back. He really feels like this brace helps, a lot. The brace is restrictive enough so that it keeps him from doing movement that could increase a chance of dislocation. In fact, he now wears one on both shoulders. I rate it a 4 because there were some issues with losing screws on the first brace. The 2nd one is a bit different and doesn't seem to be having that problem. The only thing to consider is if the athlete is a receiver. They will not be able to lift their arms straight up into the air. My son is a middle linebacker and can play with a lot more confidence and do everything he needs to do on the field.
Only one that worked

We have had 2 high school football Offensive Lineman and both have had shoulder problems -- dislocation and subluxation. Both have wanted to play through the season followed by surgery after. For one, the Sully Brace worked. For the other the Sully did nothing and he continued to have slipping. Tried several other things including the version of this brace that you put on like a vest under the pads. This one is the best. Right now this is our best hope for him to continue a winning season

When you get the brace it's 2 parts. A part that wraps around your bicep and then an "X" shaped strap. The "X" is off-center so that 2 shorter straps wrap around the bicep and 2 longer straps attach to the shoulder pads -- 1 in front and 1 in back (opposite of the injured shoulder) using buckles that come with the brace. In addition to the buckles the brace comes with 2 screws and 2 t-nuts. There are pictures to show where the buckles should attach to the shell of the pads and you just drill a hole in the shell and use the hardware they sent to attach the buckles.
Outstand Product, Outstanding Seller. Saved my Son's Season

My son subluxed his right shoulder three times in a game one week. Our trainer and othopedist recommended the DonJoy Shoulder Stabilizer SPA. It was either season ending surgery or the brace so we went with the brace. Unfortunately, it was out of stock with the manufacturer's web site. I saw it available on Amazon and ordered it through The Brace Shop. They rushed the order and got it in time for the game on Friday! Since then he's been, pretty much, pain free. The brace has stabilized his shoulder and he hasn't missed a snap because of the shoulder since. I can't thank The Brace Shop and DonJoy enough!
