Perfect lunchbox for little kids! All the food is laid out for them without a hundred separate containers. The thermos works perfects and the whole thing is easy for kids to open themselves! You do have to hand wash it, and removing and replacing the rubber seal every time is a bit time consuming, but it's worth it.

This is the 2nd OmieBox I purchase for friends. Much like the startup story, when my son started preschool it was a struggle finding lunch boxes that could keep food warm, easy for little hands to use & not have so many pieces that could be lost. Anyone with toddlers in preschool know the challenges of lost lunch containers & sippy cups. The OmieBox solved all those problems for me. I love It! Although it is true that the food does not stay piping hot - it does stay warm which is perfect for me because i do not serve my LO piping hot food. Room temperature to warm is perfect for us. OmieBox is one unit so no lost pieces & if you remove the thermos the space can be used for sandwiches or other cold dishes. Each section has more than enough room for a small child to have a well balanced lunch. My two complaints are that you have to seed the lid EXACTLY right or it will leak soupy foods & if you seal the lid while the food is boiling hot the lid will lock onto the thermos & is very difficult for an adult to open much less a small child. I do not close the lid while the food is still boiling hot & I will turn the whole thermos upside down & shake it a little to make absolutely sure the lid is seeded correctly. I've taken it to work myself to test it out & YES the soup/pasta/meatballs were still warm after 4 hours. Although the OmieBox has a convenient carrying handle, I personally still send it off in a lunch bag to avoid scuff marks, scratches & because my LO is still too young to understand how to seed the lid properly every time & soupy foods sometime leaks on the way back home. Cleaning is SUPER easy. Hot soapy water is all it needs & I remove the gasket & lid seal once a week to clean it thoroughly & have had no issues with mold. However, the Omie website does sell replacement parts if this ever becomes an issue. Overall I love the OmieBox & have purchased it as gifts for friends.

I really like the idea of this box, but.... first, it is a little heavy and difficult to open for small kids, the thermal compartment is also difficult to open and the individual compartments don't really seal off (?) we had some foods touching and mixing with other foods (which is a big no-no around here). I really like the ease of having one box for everything and the thermos being inside the box. So, that is more important to me than the negatives. Also, The aesthetics of the box are great and no need for a little nah bag. I hope that there is some minor tweaking to this product in time because it really is a great idea.

Purchased two of these for our preschooler and Kindergarten and they're a hit. The space without the thermos is almost too much room for us, but it's nice to know we have growing room. Somewhat heavy and I'm trying to figure out if I can hook a longer piece of fabric on the handle to hang on the cubby hook better and I'm not entirely sure it's dishwasher safe when they recommend hand washing (these are the only reasons I gave it a 4), BUT these are just minor details compared to the overall use of the product. It's great, gives us space for lots of options, keeps food warm and obviously for the kiddos love the look. Two thumbs up.

We bought this lunchbox for our daughter to go to preschool, and it putting things into the predetermined containers inside the box has been an easy wonderful addition to our daily morning routine. Things stay hot/cold in the thermos container very well and surprisingly enough, when the boxes held vertical, hummus/guacamole/other dippings stay in one place! The only downside is that our three-year-old sometimes has difficulty opening it on her own. She is getting better at it, but it does take some adjusting for little hands. Overall, we would you definitely recommend this box for other families!
