Good adapter when you have two monitors with different male ends (e.g., two of HDMI, VGA, and DVI) that you want to attached to the mini-display port of a computer. It will extend to one monitor and then duplicate whatever was extended to the first monitor onto the second monitor--in other words, you cannot have 3 screens, each with different images; you can have one image on your computer screen and another image duplicated on the two external monitors. Also, you have to be careful to follow directions and connect the HDMI first, and then connect the VGA or DVI end, otherwise one of the external monitors won't work. I had hoped to have extended the images to all three screens (i.e., each screen with a different image), but that is not possible with this adapter and that is why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars.

Performs as claimed and seems to be quality made. However, there is an inconsistency between the description on the Web, that reads "Mini Displayport (Compatible Thunderbolt)" that is correct, and the lettering on the unit itself that says "P++" that, as I understand is another format of Display Port, NOT a "mini". Since I used the unit on a MacBook Pro Mid 2009, it was what i needed.

Works as advertised. Only when using on a mac if plugging two monitors into it, it can only output a sing signal, or rather the mac book can that is.
So monitors connected to this can only be mirrored. For extended desktop you need to use a different (second) port on the mac.

Update 9/14/2016 Having a small issue with the Micro display port. This has a permanent home on my desk, only the surface comes and goes. Lately have had to wiggle or adjust the micro display port from this to my surface as the surface will either recognize no display or cut out if moved. Not a huge problem but did just notice it in the last few days. Will update if it gets worse or continues.

Bought this to go with my Surface Pro 4 and it makes for an excellent addition to keep in my tablet bag. I hate carrying around a pile of adapters trying to always be prepared wherever I may need to present and inevitably someone swipes the one you need and you never see it again. this all in one adapter is a great solution and it is large enough that you can park it to be identifiable to hopefully deter the adapter thief from walking off with it.
