Incontinency is a frustrating situation for everyone. For those bedridden; however, finding the best solution to keep your skin as clean and dry as possible is even more challenging. Urine and feces will eat through your skin quickly causing skin breakdown. Pressure sores are not only painful but can be life-threatening once sepsis sets in. Once my elderly husband's indwelling catheter was removed, this became a major concern due to the constant high volume of urine which an ordinary brief didn't seem to handle to my satisfaction. The sheath, or "Texas catheter", wasn't a viable option. My research lead me to the reusable portable Advantage Urinal Systems' Close Fit. It has been a saving grace for both my husband's skin integrity and my concern about keeping him as comfortable as possible (i.e., dry & clean). I purchased two so that I would have a backup when cleaning one and it works out great. I also like the fact that you can run hot soapy water, with a bit of bleach, through the entire unit and out the bottom of the bag. I highly recommend this system; especially for someone who is bedridden.

Works great! So much less mess than your standard bed urinal. Plus it holds 2000ml, like a 1/2 gallon of liquid. It's like having a detachable catheter. Make sure you empty and clean it with dish soap after each night use. You don't want your bedroom smelling like a zoo.
