We foster bottle babies all the time and this product has saved lives and vet visit many times. We do have to put into a smaller syringe to use for small kitten.

I was nervous and skeptical and had planned on diluting it like some of the reviews recommended. My rescue six week old kitten was clearly constipated and hadn't had a bowel movement in two days. I was very relieved that I bought this because by the time the third day came around these arrived. They literally danced the day! I didn't have any petroleum jelly, so I used olive oil to lubricate the tip. I didn't end up diluting it, but planned on only using a very small amount. after a little bit of trouble, I was able to,by myself, insert the tip just a little bit and push the plunger justa hair, only a pea size amount was administered. in less than 10 seconds, she walked in her litter box pooped out a nugget that I suspect was the Nugget that was blocking the rest of her bowel movement . She turned around, dug a hole in the litter box and proceeded to have a full solid bowel movement. I don't know what I would've done without this product.
*** my suggestion : based on the size of your cat try the least little amount and use more of it doesn't produce poo. Just a dab might do the trick. My cat is very grateful. She immediately started eating and drinking , so happy I took a chance

Oh boy, did this work like a charm!

Some background: My cute and cuddly but overweight and kind of lazy cat got constipated for the first time. I noticed him making multiple trips to the litter box and straining with a sigh but no poop production. He started vomiting, stopped eating, wasn't taking any water and was looking lethargic and depressed, hiding out in the corner. I immediately starting googling home remedies and bought cat laxative gels, suppositories, and pet electrolyte water. I immediately started giving him electrolyte water using a syringe every couple of hours. On day one we started with the laxative gels and that made him produce a little bit of poop but it was literally tiny sludge pieces and he would still be straining really hard as if something was stuck up his butt. We tried a glycerin suppository and that didn't work, he pooped it out immediately. By late afternoon, I went on amazon and purchased PetEma after reading the reviews. I kept him overnight by himself in the bathroom so I could monitor if he pooped (we have other cats), but there was just little bits of soft poop and vomit. He still wasn't eating or drinking. Late morning, the PetEma arrived. I set up the bathroom with puppy pads and a clean litter box. It took two of us to administer it; one holding him down and the other at his bottom. He did cry a little but just make sure to use a lot of vaseline. I left him in the bathroom and after 20 minutes, I checked up on him and he pooped 2 very hard pieces of stool. After another 20 minutes, he left a pile of poop on a puppy pad. I waited another 15 minutes before cleaning up the bathroom and giving him a bath and letting him out. He was low on energy for a day, really wasn't eating but I kept up with the electrolyte water and would nudge some wet cat food into his mouth which he did take. By the next day, he was a lot better but still keeping to himself. It took about three days before he started eating and pooping like normal. I was giving all the cats Blue Buffalo high protein before this incident and have since switched to a combo of that and Hill's Science hairball high fiber formula. I also put a little miralax in the cats' water bowl twice a week. So far so good and I really think the PetEma saved me a very expensive trip to the vet.
DO NOT USE THESE WITH OUT VET APPROVAL

These self bought Animal ENEMAS are not pre-measured and are not the correct dosage. There is a very good chance your cat will DIE HORRIBLY & PAINFULLY FROM THIS PRODUCT. This product will shut down a Cat's Kidneys due to WAY TOO STRONG. Consult your Vet before giving this to your buddy. A phone call is free and your cat deserves that consideration. DO NOT USE THIS .

I used half of one of these when my dog was acting like he had swallowed something he shouldn't have and he hadn't pooped all day. Within a few hours it worked it's magic and he was finally able to poop. He had eaten a small nerf ball from my son's room and it had gotten bigger from being in his intestines all day. Had I not had these on hand and used one I don't think he would've passed the object without a life saving surgery that I didn't have the money for at the time.
