Amazing USB converter hub.
This USB hub works exactly as described. The built in converter works really well. As for the USB ports, they work well. They do a great job of transferring data as well as charging. This hub is high quality and has a really nice finish.
I love this product and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a USB hub. Great product!

Can't believe I didn't buy one sooner

If I added up all the hours I spent wiggling in cards into the back of my Mac mini and the time I've spent trying to find an open USB port and all the time I spent messing around with card readers... why did I wait so long to buy this gadget? The card reader is blazingly fast. One complaint: the USB 3 cord is way too short. I swapped it out for a 10 foot cord, Cable Matters SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Type A to Micro-B Cable in Blue 10 Feet and it works great.
Its a nice useful setup, but....

After 6 months of use, this hub has had connection issues where my pc will tell me it disconnect and connects randomly on its own. I need this hub to use my SD Card to get read. Since it disconnects all the time randomly it will disrupt and exit my file transfers... It's unreliable at this point, but I did like it at some point. It's useful and has a nice setup, but I am now on the market for a new brand of hub...
great little hub/reader

nice little hub - i appreciate the angled face, which makes it easy to plug in and out, and the SD card reader is a major bonus. matches the finish on my iMac and is much easier to plug into than reaching back behind the monitor for the USB ports. it has a nice non-slip surface on the bottom to keep it in place on your desk. wish this product shipped with the power supply so i could plug my external hard drives into it, but i see they offer one separately so i may order one soon.
Spontaneously disconnects (update: cable problem)

This device seems to disconnect from time to time for no reason. Sometimes if you move it a little, sometimes even if you don't. Not sure what's up because it *looks* like it's well made. Perhaps I got a dud. Or perhaps USB 3 isn't ready for prime-time. Disappointed.
Update: after trying the device with a different USB 3 cable, it turns out the problem was just the cable. The device itself is well made, but the included cable is poor quality. Replace it with a better cable and you'll get the performance you were expecting. If the manufacturer included a better quality cable, I'd give it five stars.
