Hey, what happened?

I discovered the dill pickle flavored seeds in a specialty grocery store in Santa Barbara a few years back. The original flavor was strong and distinct, but also didn't leave me feeling like I'd consumed a salt lick. When I couldn't find this flavor of seeds in the stores where I live, I ordered them several times from Amazon. They were consistently great until this most recent batch. All the flavor is gone. The dill pickle mostly taste like regular salted seeds. Also there seems to be a higher proportion of over cooked / bitter seeds. I am upset that the quality has declined since they really were fun to eat. It seems like other reviewers experienced this too, and that some batches may still be good. I'd be willing to reorder if I had an assurance the quality was back on point.
Don't like BIG, or other brands that make my tongue ...

We have been buying chinook seeds from our local health food store and HEB. Suddenly they disappeared off the shelves. Don't like BIG, or other brands that make my tongue hurt. Chinook doesn't do that at all :) I know there is new packaging so I don't know if that has something to do with their disappearance. I purchased these because we eat them alot. Three stars because they are pricey. And because they are not the same quality as previous purchases. Broken seeds, smaller seed size. Tried the new cinnamon flavor, was ok. Would prefer a more intense flavor. Tried the new dill pickle flavor, would also prefer a more intense flavor. My favorite is still the BBQ. Still love this product and if you are a sunflower eater these are the best! Don't be turned away from them from my critique I'm beeing picky on purpose.
Admittedly, these are pretty good.

The main reason I got these was for the Hatch Green Chile flavored ones. I am not much for flavored sunflower seeds (I prefer the flavor of the seed), but Green Chile was a must. As soon as I opened the bag it stunk of rancidness. Gross. I tried one anyway and it actually didn't taste too bad. There was still a bit of rancid taste throughout most of the bag, but it wasn't overwhelming. All the other bags were fine. These seeds were pretty good, and they are not dusted with powder, the powder is baked onto the shell, so you don't get powder all over your hands. The seeds are pretty large too.
I've consumed sunflower seeds for going on almost 50 years. I've always felt that David's was one of the worst, and yet it is the most popular, so go figure.

This batch was not top quality!

I have been purchasing Chinook Seedery sunflower seems for about six months. For some reason this particular batch, Code No EXP02122019 was really quite bad. I threw out a bunch of the packages. For some reason, these batch of seeds, some of the seeds were rather bitter to the taste, and I thought perhaps they were burnt. It is rather distressing when a product is not consistently of excellent quality. I had ordered another order directly from Chinook Seedery, and they were excellent. So, I just don't know what to think. Chinook has just raised their price, via lowering the content per package, so when you ae paying a premium price--you expect a premium product. If I get a bad batch again, I will just stop purchasing this brand, and go back to my old favorite.
Since i quit chewing tobacco sunflower seeds have become my new vice.

Since i quit chewing tobacco sunflower seeds have become my new vice. It takes a little getting used to but is a fairly satisfying substitution. Put a bunch in your mouth, keep them in your cheek, break open one at a time, and spit seeds into bottle. Take it from someone who has quit chewing many times. This works (after you get past the initial nicotine cravings).
