Not helping posture, My chiropractic advised me to get the figure 8 brace, After wearing it over a month, I wore too the Chiropractic office ,He said it was not helping my posture, still having problems I started going to a Sports Medicine Doctor, He also said its not pulling my shoulders back,to stop using it.I even tried making it real tight to get it to pull my shoulder back,I ended up having to wire tie it because the Velcro didn't hold up. I also read other reviews talking about the velcro. ohwell I tried everything I could with it.

I want to start off by saying that before I bought this I had the worst back posture, and if I didn't correct it now then when I got older I would have a hunch back. I have had this product, and been wearing it, for a solid two straight weeks now for at least 8 hours a day. I work my desk job from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. which is when I typically wear it. I waitress at night and take it off for that job when I work, otherwise I keep it on till I go to bed. The first two days I was aching terribly, but I stuck through it because I knew that it meant it was working. I can honestly tell a big difference in my posture when I am not wearing it. I still feel some discomfort, but I know that is because my back is adjusting to everything being realigned, especially when I sit up correctly straight. I am very dedicated to correcting my posture and I feel that if you want the full effect of this product you need to be. I was instructed by a doctor that I should wear it for a month as much as possible before starting to slowly wean myself off of it. This is not a miracle product and result don't happen over night, but if you give it the time and put in the effort it definitely does its job and for a great price as well. I typically wear it over my shirt and keep a sweater over it when wearing it at work and it is not noticeable. The days a I work outside I wear a camisole, the brace, and then a t-shirt over that. If it is a dark colored shirt then you cant tell that I have it on as well.

My only complaint is that if I am doing things that use a lot of arm activity, it can get a little restraining and hard to maneuver. This is to be expected when something thick, other than a t-shirt, is sitting up under your armpit. Overall a great product for a great price!

I love this brace! Years of poor posture and a large chest on a petite frame has left me with shoulders that are seemingly permanently rolled forward. I understand it's best to just work on proper form without a brace so that your muscles can strengthen naturally, but I cannot hold my shoulders back in proper form at all. This brace holds my shoulders back exactly where they need to be. Hopefully, with time and this brace, I can work towards proper posture once and for all.

BTW, the first time I put this on I thought it was very uncomfortable and didn't work well; as it turns out, I had it on upside down. If it's not working well, you may have it on incorrecrly, as well. :)

I understand why some people complain that this is painful (for two reasons). The first one is a reason that people -- if they actually read the product information -- is that retraining your muscles is a process that does involve some pain. You are working your body, forcing it into a position it has not been in for a long time if ever. That is normal. Over time your muscles strengthen and your posture improves, which then helps to eliminate this pain. The second issue with pain is that because the bands are wide, they can cut into your arms. This is even more painful for people that carry a lot of fat on their arms. The straps really dig in there. I do not think there is a lot that can be done about this, it's going to happen with almost any brace out there (except for a very limited few).

That being said, for an affordable brace, this one is actually really great. Compared to other braces, this one is far my comfortable due to the extra padding in the straps. It is easy to adjust for your sizing needs. The brace is very stable, and over time it does help strengthen the muscles in certain areas that help to improve posture (or it has for me at least).

I have been wearing this everyday for a month plus. I have a small hump in my spine in my neck because of poor posture. This helps roll my shoulders back and alleviate tension in the muscles in my neck, head, and jaw. The second I take this clavicle brace off I feel the tension again. So... no doubt that it is helping me. The reason I can only give it 3 starts is due to poor construction. The velcro does not hold. The way the fabric is sewn, the fabric folds into the velcro which reduces the amount of area of velcro that is exposed to stick. Secondly, the velcro is intended to latch on the the fabric. There is no fuzzy velcro side to catch the velcro hooks. This means that several times in a hour the straps slip down and I have to readjust. I would not purchase this again for that reason only.
