Make sure this item is compatible with your system; there is a list in the description. I needed a PC with USB 3 ports for something and the motherboard I had had the dumb 8 pin power socket. I was mildly concerned when I bought this because of the reviews (I got the mobo from the trash so I wasn't too worried about it). I read the description and my PC was in the compatibility list. Plug it on the powerline for the for the PSU and the mobo socket, crossed my fingers, and push the power button. No problems here, have been using daily since the beginning of October.
