It is compact and works well. The only downside is that it has two start-up modes, fast & slow, and this feature hides in the setup menu with slow being the factory default. It is easy to fix, but my point is why should you have to hunt down & fix something that slows the device down.

Overall I have had good luck with this player. It's quite compact. I use an Ethernet cable, so that I received the fastest possible speed with my internet service. I've streamed a couple of movies from Amazon, and they worked out fine. I've played both standard DVD's as well as Blu-Ray discs, and both have played without an issue.
The remote is small / compact, but it works fine. It took me a couple of minutes to find out how to sync the remote with my TV (instructions are tucked-away on the set-up paper).
One thing I really like is the USB port. I have a Western Digital passport drive, with lots of videos and pictures, so it's really great to be able to view them through the Sony device.
Overall I'm very pleased. It's small. . . . it's affordable. . . and it works. What more can you ask for?

This was a wedding gift 6 years ago and it still works perfectly today. We have only used it with used flat screen tvs and have never had an issue. It works fine even with our Roku player hooked up to the same tv as we have upgraded. It is annoying that it has never played blue ray DVDs but that's my fault for not returning it in the first place. Otherwise it works just fine for regular dvds and is easy to use. Also, I have to commend the quality bc in the last year, my two children have thoroughly enjoyed pushing the button with the green light over and over like it was a toy with no issues whatsoever ever. :)
