I bought a pair of these 'keyed alike' locks to replace ones that are universally keyed (so that the storage spaces they are for would have greater security. But the keys in fact open the locks already installed (i.e., the ones I was going to replace). I returned them and will buy true security locks.

Exactly what I needed, works great. Used on a UTV glove box.

Horrible! Don't waste your money! After installing it according to the directions (had to drill a hole in a cabinet, so there's no going back now), it worked (stiffly and with a lot of jiggling) about five times. The key would be difficult to insert in the lock and difficult to turn, but I figured I had gotten what I paid for so I shrugged and moved on. However, after trying to insert the key one more time, I could not get it to go into the lock more than a few millimeters. I could see that there was a piece of metal hanging down inside the lock that was preventing the key from going in, so I used a tiny flathead screwdriver to move that metal up and out of the way. After that, the key went in, but would not turn the lock. It's as if it's the wrong key now. It came with two keys and both behave the same way. I'm now on the hunt for a new lock from a different manufacturer. 😡

The quality is so poor. The nut is a hair too large so you can't tighten it or it strips. The collar to prevent the lock spinning is too small to fit over lock in any way. I cut it into a "C" shape to get it on. Probably will need to replace this in a few weeks. I would have returned them but already drilled the holes.

Don't waste your time with this product!!!!!!!! The threaded nut that holds the lock cylinder in place does NOT fit correctly(strips out even with light pressure) making it impossible to install these locks so they work for their intended purpose. Perhaps these make great paper weights...actually they would not even make decent paper weights. They are COMPLETELY USELESS unless you want to throw them at the neighborhood punk when he drives by your house too fast!
