Your new best friend - step up your hydration game

Okay, that title may seem over the top, but this, on a mason jar, has been my constant companion since I got it. I even take to it bed! I so appreciate it!
I ordered this infusion lid along with the regular lid (same product without the removable basket underneath), and now wish I had just ordered two of these (especially since they're the same price). This has transformed my hydration levels - I seriously drink so much more water because of this, because I can put a chopped-up lemon in and chug away without getting seeds or rinds. (The lemon just gives the water enough extra flavor to make it more desirable. Supposed to be good for your acid/alkaline levels too.) The increased water intake is especially good for me given the dry climate I live in. I like that the basket is removable, not only for cleaning but also because I can mix and match which top I put it under (I got two different colors).
As I remarked on the basic top: Fits very well, easy to insert into the top of the jar but still seals tight with a band holding it down. Has been leakproof so far, and I frequently carry it around in the side pocket of my backpack, which gets tossed (gently) in the car seat or floor and slung on and off my back. The price is better than products that perform a similar function, and the quality is top-notch. Thanks Jarware!

Great product to expand the possible uses of mason jars

LOVE IT! Very useful in the Kitchen. Thanks Crazy Russian Hacker

I saw this on Crazy Russian Hacker and I had to have it. Great price, and I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I'm planning on buying more for gifts. I live in Hawaii so our salt clumps unless we add dry rice. I put a couple teaspoons of dry rice, salt and then put the pepper in the little tube. Easy to assemble and easy to use. I know it's random but I love that the salt and pepper can pour together, and it's a good amount too! The holes aren't tiny. Definitely recommend this product.

I haven't used it long - I just got it but I see no reason why this wouldn't last for years. It's simple design fits easily into a narrow mouth mason jar ring and it sits right to the bottom of a pint jar. It's easy to use, and looks very attractive sitting out. If you spin it carefully after pulling it out of the jar, you will have no drips at all. I am VERY happy with this product and have and will continue to recommend to anyone.
For use with REGULAR sized jars, not wide-mouth!

BE AWARE THAT IT TAKES REGULAR-MOUTH SIZED LIDS!! If you're someone, like me, who has a boatload of mason jars, but every one of them is wide-mouthed, you will have to purchase a jar to use this handy little item. Hence the reason I've yet to actually USE it. :( I will come back to adjust my rating if I find that after I use it I change my opinion. However, I did purchase some 4oz regular-mouthed jars to use as spice shakers with the Ball herb-shaker lids, and the ring for those jars is a VERY tight fit with this. I do not know if the 4oz jar lids are smaller than regular sized lids or not, but I would be surprised if they were (I just don't know), so that's another thing of which to be aware.
Now, that aside, this is a handy little gadget and I'm glad I own it (though I think it's a bit over-priced). As I tend to spice my food liberally, we've never needed a salt or pepper shaker on the table, so YMMV. I'm planning on using it with cocoa and confectioner's (10X) sugar (or two different types of cocoa) as I tend to use those in smaller amounts than salt but still use a surprising amount of cocoa. I'm heavy on the salt and often grab it by the handful. I mainly use coarse Kosher, or Maldon sea flakes, and they just won't fit through the holes of this shaker. While typing this, it finally occurred to me to put the Maldon in one of the 4oz jars with the Ball lid, so I just did. Works beautifully! Also, I found this ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01410LTWC ) sitting in my jar cabinet. Think I'll throw some Kosher salt in a pint jar as soon as I can get a regular-mouth jar. I hate that all these products are made only for regular-mouth jars. :(
Hmmm, thinking about it - fine ground Himalayan sea salt and finely ground pepper might be a great use for this product ... I may need more than 1! LOL My mind is just a'spinnin' now! :D
I'm sorry this is so long. I got excited about the product! LOVE my mason jars and am always looking for ways to use them. If this review was helpful to you, please let me know! :D Otherwise, I'll try and be much less long-winded on my next review.
ETA: Since someone gave this 2 stars because his coarsely ground pepper won't fit through the holes ... well, now you know! It's for use with more finely ground products (can't even use dried herbs with it). So, those of you considering purchasing this item, do so in full knowledge that it has much smaller holes than the other 2 shaker lids I've so far found for use with mason jars. YAY! At last there's a product with smaller holes as I can't use the Ball or Jarware lid with fine-ground spices.
