Tom In Bucks CountyApril 1, 2017
I've given the product 8 months in my basement. So far, it has caught nothing. Traditional spring traps have caught 4 mice in the same time frame. I am compelled to finally offer a review because, during my last attempt to rebait it, I discovered the prior bait missing, replaced nearby with rodent droppings. I.e., a critter made it into the trap, laughed, had a party, ate the bait, pooped, and left the premises. Perhaps not precisely in that order, but you get the idea. The lights all indicate that the device is working, but, obviously, I dare not actually test that theory -- there is no way to know if something is wrong, or if the device simply doesn't work. It doesn't matter a whole lot to me. I can't return it at this point, and it doesn't catch rodents. It's an expensive door stop.
Electric Failure

This trap ended up being a feeding station for rats!
Tried to hook it up with either electric cord or batteries and never caught anything.
Switch was on! Tried it for 2 months daily baited with peanut butter which was a
ALWAYS missing in morning! Y
They loved the bait never turned it down. I think I have more roof rats now than before I got it.

had this for a little while now and was skeptical to say the least since i knew we had a mouse in the house but yet no mouse in the trap...

that is till one day i come home from work to hear a strange beeping sound so i go towards it to find the green light at the top of the trap... long and behold the mouse that have escaped capture for weeks on end was inches from the bait and dead...

tossed the bait and mouse out, gave the whole trap a quick wipe down, replaced the bait and left out to see if he had any friends...

ive used numerous glue traps and seems that the mouse i have had in the house were always able to chew their way out before they were found, with this i dont need to worry about that, and in the long run will save me money over constant purchases of non working glue traps.

one caveat... after cleaning the trap before plugging it back in make sure the traps off before you plug in wall outlet or the trap will make a constant buzzing sound and the light will be red... after turning off the trap then turning it back on ... i get the alls clear red light every 15 seconds and no sounds...
The only thing that's worked!

8/13: We've had mice in our back bedrooms for about 6 weeks. They clawed a nickle sized hole in my bedroom ceiling and came in under the door on 2 occasions that I saw and I'm sure more that I didn't. We found the hole in the baseboard they were coming in from and deployed traps in the area. First we tried sticky traps and poison which they avoided, and then 8 snap traps. Some were licked clean without being set off, the rest were ignored. When I found tons of mouse droppings in my closet a few days ago I finally decided to spend the money on this (no I did not get it free). I set it up with salami and dog food as bait right in front of their entrance and on the third night heard the trap buzz and then start beeping. I can't tell you how much of a relief it is to finally have something work. One down, who knows how many to go. I'll update when we get more.

10/3: I thought maybe we only had the one mouse but left the electronic trap deployed, however after almost 2 months another mouse was caught in a nearby snap trap. The bait was still in the zapper so maybe it just didn't go in there, though it had to pass the zapper to get to the snap trap. I can tell you seeing the dead mouse in the snap trap was disgusting, I much prefer them to die in the zapper where I can't see.
Mwa, ha, ha, ha - bring it on, vermin!

Caught our first rat in the chicken coop the other day. We put the unit in a box (an Amazon box, actually) and cut a hole for the vermin to get in, and a hole higher up for the wires to run out to the outlet. We ran the wires through a 1" PVC pipe just in case so the vermin wouldn't be tempted to nibble on them. We figured it would be good protection all around to put the unit into a box because the chickens will roost on anything we put into the coop, and we figured it would cut down on the amount of sawdust that enters the unit. We check it everyday as we gather the eggs. The light flashed and the unit beeped, so it was obvious when it caught something. Clean-up was a little tedious since the instructions said to erase all evidence/smell of dead rat, but worth it since our world was less one rat that would get into the chicken feed - and it was nice that there was no blood or goo. Crossing our fingers that we'll be able to take them all out.
