Wow! Excellent starter kit!
Stephen E.•September 3, 2017
I have been in software development for over 15 years, and working with Arduino and other micro-controllers for over 5 years now, and am still quite impressed with this kit. It has a plethora of common components to get started with which would take some time to gather independently, but probably more importantly this kit has an excellent tutorial and reference manual. Whether you use the included CD or download the 500 MB package from their website, you will find a well thought out structure, instructions and tutorial manual, Arduino installation software, and code samples all available in several different languages. The tutorial covers something like 24 lessons starting with the basics and ending with some more advanced projects. The instructions are quite clear with pictures and sample code is included as well.
As for the included components...
The cloned Arduino Uno R3 looks almost identical and works as good as the original. I love the silkscreen on the side of the headers. I do wish everyone would do away with the USB B connector and switch to the more common micro USB connector, but alas I guess they figure we still need backwards compatibility with the original. The micro-controller is the extremely common ATmega328P running at 16 mHz. The USB-to-serial interface is using the official Atmega16u2 chip instead of some generic chip (like the CH340G or something that cheaper kits use).
This kit includes not just one but two different solderless prototyping breadboards as well as a power supply module that plugs into the bigger one. There is a good selection of two different motors and a servo. There are several options for displaying data like the 7-segment displays or the larger character LCD. There are several sensor modules for things like temperature, humidity, proximity, infrared, etc... Then, there are the more common components like switches, resistors, LEDs, buzzers and so on.
Basically... this kit contains enough parts for hundred of different Arduino projects and is enough for anyone to get started. I already have quite a selection of Arduinos and Arduino modules and components, but really like this kit because it provides a convenient all-in-one set of components and handy storage case that I can bring along with to show and help others out with their projects.

very nice starter kit

very nice starter kit, a little overwhelming since you do not know where to start, it is ok to know what else you can do with this and then buy another kits for specific functions like 3d printer or so. The box is a nice addition.
Very high-quality product, Very intricate guide for beginners!

Wow Elegoo! I love this product, keep up the 5-star work guys/gals!
The Elegoo UNO R3 looks super cool in its metallic black finish and the packaging for all those components and modules is just perfectly executed, they really packed everything perfectly in and it's very easy to put things back once you take them out.
Although I did not use the tutorials (I have a Bachelor's in Computer Science) I took a good look at them and I have to say that they make it very very easy for someone who would like to learn more about Arduino without having experience in programming or electronics, so bonus points for that!
All the modules I've use so far have worked perfectly and without a hitch, I'm suggesting this product for anyone who is interested in entering the world of Arduino programming, excellent quality for affordable price!

Great kit.

This kit has a lot of value to it. It comes with everything you see there as well as a CD with a bunch of possible projects you can do. Not to mention you can do anything you can think of with this. The kit opened my eyes to Arduino possibilities and actually helped me install a sensor at my place of work.
It was great while it worked
Amazon Customer•August 3, 2017
It was great while it worked, but the Uno R3 stopped working not long after it came. Lights turn on, code downloads to the unit, but the board does not execute it.Amazon says warranty is through Elegoo, but I couldn't find any warranty information on Elegoo's website. So I'm rather stuck. How does one get the warranty? Will try to update if by some chance someone (i.e.: Elegoo and/or Amazon) provides the information on how to get this replaced.
UPDATE 8/31/17: Elegoo was quick to ship out a replacement Uno R3 (had it probably within a week of the review). Kudos to them for being so active. Unfortunately the new one also seems problematic. It worked well for a week or so, after which it started overheating easily. Trying to figure out if it's user error or another bad board. The only questionable thing is that it was run with the blink code for 4 hours straight. Not sure of the stars now as I don't know whose fault this other one is, and I don't want to blame them unfairly if it's user error.
