Great Accessory. Was Able to Use it for Day and Night Driving. Will come in handy during accidents and insurance claims!

I thought using this would be a very complicated matter, but it actually wasn't... to my relief. Worked well, both on day trips and night trips... and the video captured was very decent. I also tried the Parking/Motion sensor feature, which actually comes handy. Also handy to have a battery backup built in; I had to disconnect the power plug for a few seconds at one point to make some necessary adjustments -- but the camera kept running because of the backup battery. I keep the battery fully-charged for obvious reasons.

Now, just be aware that the rearview mirror won't be as clear as your stock factory rearview mirror that comes with your vehicle. But I can see enough -- both day and night -- to drive safely. For some people, this might be a nuisance. But for what it offers (an LCD screen and camera), I can't really complain when I factor in the benefits.

To make sure it works properly, make sure you use a CLASS 10 or higher microSD card. I think the manual said use a TFT card that is higher than Class 10, but I was able to use Class 10 without issues. Anything lower than that (Class 4, etc), you're asking for trouble. The class designation is imprinted on your TFT card, in case you were wondering.

I have not been able to install the rear camera option, as I've been busy lately. But I know it will come in very handy when I'm hooking up to our pull-trailer.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this. Hope it will last a long time. It can get really hot here in Texas, and I don't want to burn out the electrical wires/components... so I plan to snap the front camera/rearview mirror screen off whenever I'm not driving.
One of those things where you realise you get what you pay for

Been using it for a few months well so let's go. The front footage is decent ... 5 mins worth of video takes 1GB. Cars, plates or people can be made out pretty well at ~50 meters out. The rear camera ..can be improved, but very sufficient for reversing. It's been taking some water but still lives. The rear camera lead is very sufficient for the vehicle it was installed on (mid size suv).

Now, my unit came with a detached arm (part that keeps the strap around the car rearview. Needless to say you'll have to put in some work and glue to get around this, or face a dash cam ready to fall when you hit a small bump.
I wouldn't call my unit reliable because 40% of the time when I hit the button dedicated to record, it does the function of another button. What happens when the situation arises that I need it recording NOW, like any dashcam should?
Also, it loses time i.e. the time and date isn't correct after a few days, essentially making it not worthy of the job of recording accurate data (video and correct timestamp) when needed.
Also, when inserting my 64GB micro sd card, it missed the slot at the top and slid through a gap between the slot and the casing.. into the unit. WHAT NOW?
Also, the glass gets pretty hot in the center area on hot days (-90 F). The end.
Cheap but it works

This is very cheap so I was not expecting it to be great. The front camera has a good 170 degree angle that is very useful. The rear camera angle is very very narrow, the good thing is that I can adapt another camera for the rear.

The unit gets really hot, the video recording is very laggy and some frames are stuck. Sometimes it crashes and shuts down..

While riding, it will record the front and rear video. It creates two folders for the recordings of both cameras. Thats actually cool.

It definitely does not have any night vision or proximity detection. The unit processor is really slow and you can tell it gets stuck some times.
You will want a large enough capacity ttd card found ...
Dave Chase✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 13, 2017
You will want a large enough capacity ttd card found at camera shops as well as an SD Card adapter and a usb card reader type adapter in order to upload onto phone or pc for review. And you will need to find a way to conceal by tucking in the long cord thar runs out to the 12volt lighter socket which powers the recorder each time the ignition is turned even for accessories only for playing a car stereo. You will hear a beep sound each time the vehicle is turned off. other then that you may find the clamps may not fit over a thick mirror where a pair of heavy rubber bands did the trick here at securing the recording camera to mirror.
Works well if you want to be inconspicuous

I purchased this for my son. He installed it in his Ford truck and said the size was perfect. It doesn't come with the micro SD card needed to record but he mentioned that when you do install one, you need to be really careful because it can easily get lodged between the mirror where it would be very difficult to retrieve it. He says it works well and has a pretty decent viewing area in the front of you. He didn't really care for the blue tint for regular day to day use although I know that's mainly there for night time viewing - still most of his driving is in the day time so it's not as practical. The good thing is that made into a rear-view mirror, it's not obvious that you have a car video recorder if you don't want anyone to know or are worried about someone breaking in to steal it.
Overall, it works pretty well but he thought it was a little less practical than a dash mounted camera would be that he could easily remove from the dash when he didn't want anyone to see it.
