READ THIS, nothing really wrong with this item. I was a first time chicken owner in Tennessee and felt we needed a coup. Should have just bought or found some pallet wood and built my own from the start. the only thing they use this for is to lay eggs in the nesting box. I have 7 chickens and they will fit in here, it is a good product but i encourage you to just take the time to build your own.
I work and have such few hours to spare on the weekends and i am not a wood worker type, im more the whats on tv type but building the coup was easier and cheaper than this was, and not i have both since it had to build an enclouser for them anbyway.

I bought this little house for my 4 ducks. My 15 year-old son put it together. It was a little challenging for him but no more than a new box of Legos would be. It seems sturdy, though one of the pieces did break a little as we were trying to force it together. That was probably our bad. It didn't hurt the structure at all and the ducks haven't sent in a complaint yet so I think we're good. It took two people to carry it out of the house and down to the duck coop. It fit through the house doors just fine. The next morning I found 4 ducks and 2 eggs nestled in the straw. They didn't hesitate to claim it as home.

I free range my chickens and they use this only at night. I have 8 large hens and they fit comfortably inside with room to spare. I could most likely add a couple more and there would still be enough room. Having said that I don't think this would be a good coop to keep chickens in full time as it gets hot during the day. But for sleeping in its very secure. We added a lock to the door and have not had any predators that have been able to get in.
Easy to assemble, but some drawbacks.

This is pretty good for a small chicken house for maybe 3 chickens. However, its a pain to clean, and the 'run' they sell with it does not actually attach properly, The roosting bar provided is far too short, with bedding in the coop it's on the ground!
It was, however, very easily assembled. A piece broke and the company immediately sent me a replacement. if you could lift the top up to clean it out, I would have far fewer complaints, but the removal of the roof is a bit of a pain for weekly cleaning, and the ventilation is too poor for a 'deep litter' method.

We bought this for our tortoises. It doesn't seem like it attaches to the pen but that is probably because we did something wrong when we put everything together. We actually decided to use the pen upside down since our tortoises burrow. While the barn is sort of easy to clean I kind of wish it had a hinge for the roof instead of having to take the whole roof apart to clean inside.
