Good gear is good gear!

I've got a double and a single for 3 on a duty/training belt. I did that for versatility, although after the fact, a triple may have worked just fine. These are great for mixed use, Dbl stack Glock mags and single stack 1911 mags both in the same day, same training and without having to adjust anything.

FYI, I was a little confused by comments in reviews about these vs. MOLLE. These have Velcro to secure around a belt. They work great.

Expensive? Maybe, but they're so versatile they're worth it. A great SWAT trainer I've worked (in a civilian setting) with said this of gear, even just for training, and I wholeheartedly agree. "Buy once, cry once".

Shed a tear if you need to, but know you're buying great equipment you'll be able to use in several applications!!
Great for concealed carry outside the waistband.

I really like this magazine holder. I keep a 15-round Glock magazine in it. It holds it tight enough, but not too tight, and it goes completely unnoticed. It may be the adjustable cords that are around it and hang down off it, but no one notices that it is a magazine pouch. Great for concealed carry outside the waistband..

Perfect size for a stock Glock 19 magazine (and like magazines), an array of different sized flash lights, and what I currently have is my Gerber multi-tool. Tension adjustable to keep your tools in. Straps onto my 5.11 belt 1.5 inch belt along with my other basic belts with ease. After a year of use, it has shown a little use but nothing that affects its operational use. I would recommend, even as one of their older designs. I plan on picking up a few more of these in the near future.
Great but with pokey bits.

The TACO from HSGI should need no introduction as it has taken the tactical gear world by storm since its introduction. The belt-mounted version is just as good and it is quick and secure (so far) to attach to a belt. I have only used these at one carbine class so far and there they performed just fine.

I took off one star because I could actually think of a negative thing about these pouches: the plastic "guides" that cover the front and rear "spine" of the magazine have pointy corners on them and they can scratch you if you scrape against them and poke you in the stomach if you lean into them in a crouching or squatting position. I am actually a pretty skinny guy, so I imagine that this would be an even bigger issue for anyone with love handles. This issue came up only in certain shooting positions and this was when I was wearing only a t-shirt. You could probably just wear a thicker shirt or light jacket to keep the pointy corners from jabbing into you if this was a concern.

Other than that, these are great: they attach quickly and securely to a belt (the MOLLE/PALS version of the TACO has been criticized for the difficulty that people have when mounting the pouch to a vest or other PALS platform, so the belt-attach version solves this major complaint), they are fast to get magazines into and out of, they are very secure for a pouch with no cord or flap/lid (and a length of shock cord can be attached easily for added retention if you're doing airborne operations or other ninja stuff), and they fit every magazine I've put into them, up to a Glock 20 mag. For single-stack magazines, I've heard of folks painting rubber cement around the inside mouth of the pouch. When the rubber dries, it adds friction to the inside of the pouch, making it retain these skinny magazines better. I don't own a single-stack gun anymore so I haven't personally tried this mod.

Overall, I'm happy with these and might just grind down the corners of the pointy plastic things to make them a five-star item!
Works great but...

Here's the deal. I love HSGI Taco pouches with MOLLE attachments. But I wanted something to carry a spare mag on my belt for everyday. Because I carry two different pistols, I wanted something universal. TACO pouches have worked on my tactical rig so I thought this would too, except on my belt. And it does. It works exactly as described. But something just seems off about the velcro belt attachment. It didn't move around or come loose or anything, so I can't really complain. It just isn't as dynamic as the tactical velcro (or hook and pile tape) that I'm used to. I am used to velcro that has to be ripped apart. This is much more pliable and easy to detach. Now, as stated, it did not move around or come loose. It just doesn't feel as strong as the velcro that I am used to. It works fine so I'll roll with it for now, but I probably wouldn't have bought it if I had seen it in person before hand.
