It does exactly what it is supposed to do for a better price than most on the market

It's fairly hard to go wrong with a lancing device, and this is a really solid choice. It does exactly what it is supposed to do for a better price than most on the market. I think the trigger button is a little stiff for my liking, but I'm sure it will loosen up with time. My one criticism is the curved indent of the cap. it is VERY round. More round than any finger I know of. The top of my pinkie fills the space, but I don't want to sample there. The sides of a finger are more flat, so you get inconsistent placement and penetration. Honestly, it's a petty criticism, but annoying nonetheless. It's feedback the manufacturer needs, but nothing that should dissuade someone from buying so long as the price is right.
Better design and adjustability

I have tried several manufacturers and designs of lancet devices. I am a new user of this one, and so far, I am quite pleased. After 20 years of finger callous', I need a deep injection and this item has enough adjustment for me. The ejector is easy to use and works effectively.

I find it a bit cumbersome to use. It's very easy to reset the depth adjustment accidentally when removing the top to load a lancet. It's also necessary to rotate the device to utilize the injector.

It's not perfect, but it's the best I have found.
Fortunately, I think

When I "lost" the top of my original lancing device into a large sharps disposal, I originally planned to replace it with the same (brand name) device. Fortunately, I think, they seem to have stopped making it and now the company wants you to get one with six pre-loaded lancets, which of course are about three times more expensive than the generics from the drug store. This one had so many good reviews, I was almost suspicious about it, but for the price it seemed worth the risk.
When it first came, it seemed really light weight and possibly flimsy, but it works well.
Compared with my original device, the prick of the needle is very light and most days I can barely feel it, but it does do the job of getting enough blood to use the strip using either the 4 or 5 setting.
One point off because it feels so flimsy, but it work well and at this price it is easy enough to replace.
Not a good choice for me.

I do not prefer this lancet. It's way too powerful. Although I am generally ok with needles the amount of pressure needed to get the lancet to prick makes an already uncomfortable experience even more nerve racking.
This works best for alternate site testing, though it did give me a purple mark the size of a penny on my arm.
I do not like this lancet, but I will keep it for emergencies while I use the one touch lancer that came with my meter. It's easier to use and doesn't have any of the cons that this one has for me.
The following list of pros and cons are my use and my pros may be your cons and vice versa. These are the pros and cons that are driving my two star rating.

CONS:
Sometimes the cocking mechanism sticks making you give yourself a false poke thus increasing any "dread of lancet" feelings that day.
Vibrates when the trigger is pushed, making it rather painful because the lancet doesn't come straight in and out.
Level one is a really deep setting - lancet cannot be set lower. Not great for finger poking.
Device is long, circular, and has a rounded end making it roll around a lot and making it incapable of standing up on its end. (I don't want to stand it up lancet pointing down on the table)
Loud clicking sound when used.
Depth adjuster is too easy to change. (always double check before pushing the trigger)
Hard to impossible to see what the depth is set to in lower light as the marker is just a bit of barely raised plastic the same colour as the rest of the band in which it sits.

PROS:
Inexpensive and gets the job done.
Clear head, so you never forget if there's a loaded lancet or not.
Longer and easier to hold design.
Simple plunger cocking device.
Can deliver exceptionally deep pricks for thick skin and alternative site testing.
Brighter colors larger size make it harder to loose.
Trigger takes some effort to compress so there's no chance of accidental pricking.
Very easy to change the lancet. The lancet sticks out quite a bit making it easier to prevent the lancet from flying across the room.
Takes generic lancets.
Best Lancing Device I've Ever Used
Trormeri✓ Verified PurchaseJune 17, 2017
Received devices much sooner than I expected and quickly unpacked them. After reading other reviews, I was anxious to try one out. The other lancing device I had came with the monitor as part of a package deal. I had never been impressed with it. The Care Touch Adjustable Lancing Device was all I had hoped it would be, PLUS some! It is small and compact, but gets the job done. A few of the reviews mentioned painless. YES! I was also able to dial back on the level I needed to use to get a blood sample. It didn't HURT, and I always got enough for a good test. I am glad I ordered three, and I expect to use these for a long, long, time.
