Challenging installation!

If you are considering this product, know that it is not an easy DIY project. I bought the "30tube" product. It was just barely too big to fit inside a 1" PVC pipe so I bought a 1.25" pipe. In retrospect, I probably should have bought the "38tube" motor. I bought a Bali roller shade at Home Depot and had it cut to length (which was about 69 inches wide). I then built up the motor with tape to get a snug fit inside the PVC pipe. This is where the problems began:

1) Rolling up the shade on the PVC pipe perfectly straight was a little challenging, but do-able.
2) Even with the motor being built up with the tape, the motor would tend to get pushed into the PVC pipe. Also, although it worked the first couple of times after it was installed, it then started slipping and the one morning I found that the whole shade had just unwound by gravity. The tape strategy might work for shade that isn't so wide and heavy as I used, but not this one. I had to take it down and drill holes in the PVC pipe. I then put little screws through these holes into the end of the motor to keep it from slipping.
3) Know that PVC pipe isn't completely straight, so the roller will likely look like it wobbles a little bit at this length. I actually fixed this by using the tube that originally came with the shade. It just happened to be a perfect snug fit inside the 1.25" PVC pipe!
4) Also know that hanging the shade requires you to drill very close to a corner (minor point) - my drill wouldn't fit that close so I had to drill the holes at a bit of an angle.

In the end, I was pleased with the result, but be prepared to put some time and effort into this project. With the cost of the shade, motor, and PVC pipe, the total cost was around $120.
Great bang for the buck, work great!

This is great bang for the buck. True, it may not fit US measurements perfectly but a little tinkering will save you a LOT of money compared to other options. What I did was got 1.25" (I think?) PVC pipe for the roller shade and I trimmed the rubbery stuff off of the contact points of the motor and I shoved it in. It was a bit tedious but I now have custom motorized shades for a fraction of the price I would have paid otherwise.
Please Help me figure out how to get these motorized blinds connected to either my Amazon Alexa or Google home device, thx

works well. the instructions were horrible on how to install motor into the existing shade roller recommend Youtube install video instructions, remote instructions were adequate.

--> Has anyone come across an inexpensive self learning smart home RF to wifi to all compatibility to Alexa, wink, zigbee, zwave, or osram lightify devices? basically I want the ability to control the blinds by voice on either Amazon Alexa or even Google home device. thanks in advance for sharing if you know how to do this.
Work Great after Modification

I bought 6 of these and they work great. I did have to create new parts to make them work with my 30 mm inside diameter Bali shades. If you have access to a 3D printer, the designs are linked in the answers to questions.
Great motors for DIY solution

These motors are truly great! I ran them using 24v to get more speed and power out of them. To everyone leaving bad reviews, these motors are truly a DIY product!

I used 1.25 PVC pipe to put the motors in and cut to size to fit my blinds, I had to use the narrower size in order to fit the frame I installed them on as they are getting covered with wood trim, I couldn't have them sticking out. Had I used the 1.5 PVC pipe, the install would have gone a lot quicker as you can essentially bulk up the rubber holders on the engine until it fits the pipe.I also had to modify the mounts to fit the frame opening. I used high grade epoxy to hold the fittings to the ends of the pipe and I can assure you these Engines will not slipping anytime soon!

To control them via Homeseer and other home automation. While it's not the easiest thing, I'm using a raspberry pi relay station to simulate button presses on the remote in order to be able to control them through my home automation system.
