These screw-in sockets work very well to give you another spot to plug into. However.... you need to remember, the more items that are connected, to the socket the more likely it will heat up and could start a fire.

Excellent product. I have a laundry room where the original ceiling fixture had a chain to turn the lights on and off. Over the years, the chain on the fixture have failed on mulitple occasions, causing me to change to another chain fixture since there was no wall switch in this particular room. The change was tedious and a lot more expensive than this product. This product allows for an easy change - just screw it into the light bulb socket and add a light bulb. The only modification I had to make was removing the tip of the chain and adding a longer chain so that it could be turned on and off without a ladder.
