This device has a hard plastic cover over where the threads are normally. In attempting to remove it to expose the threads for the outlet the entire end of the piece came off and exposed the wiring. Tried to remove the cover several ways to no avail. This product, in my opinion is worthless. In the picture you see threads just like a light bulb. That male end of the fixture has no threads.
Just what I needed for garage lights.

I had already replaced the standard bulbs with CFLs, then LEDs. I decided to try these for both overhead lighting and for extra lights with green screen video shooting.

I had a friend tell me about these, and they changed my basement life for the better. We have one dungeon like room where you could never see into the edges of the room. I popped one of these into each of the light sockets, and now I can see every creepy spider and dust bunny in the place. It's beautiful. I highly recommend these for those tough-to-light areas.

Super for lighting up garage. Placed 3 100 watt equivalent led bulbs in and fixture was almost too bright to look at. Made of platic. No issues with LED. Have not tried with higher heat incandescent regular bulbs.
