I bought these aqua socks for my sister and myself as we went on a cruise last April. We had one beach day with aquapark activities and one day at the Atlantis resort. I was looking for something to protect our feet but light enough that we wouldn't need to take out on the rides.
These socks are perfect but that purpose, we were never told at any ride to remove them from our feet and they did protected us from hot pavement.
As other people have mentioned the socks does not last long. We used them 2 days for around 5 hours each day (the rest of the week we were them sporadically) and by the end of the trip the socks looked pretty wore out. They are still useful but I do not think would be good after some other days of wearing.
I bought them knowing they wouldn't last for ever. They served the purpose on the trip and that was enough for me.
I gave 4 stars because for the price you would expect something that lasts a little bit longer. But overall it was a good product and served me well.

This is a overall good product. Look, this is not going to protect you from ANYTHING! They are spandex. Do not expect to be able to do anything that you wish shoes can do for you. Now, what these are good for is for those of us who have fear around walking barefoot in water. For example, I hate walking into the ocean cause I don't know what I might step on. So, as I went to the beach the other week I wore them, but I will say, each time the waves came in the socks filled with sand. It didn't bug me too much and I was able to ignore it, but I did have to take them off, turn them inside out, and rinse them out after I was done.

I got these because I swim a lot and when I push off of the bottom or side or the pool my toes get scraped up. After two swims there were holes in both socks. The padding is extremely flimsy, they are basically just thin slippery feet coverings.

I got the 2 pair deal. One bright green, one blue. I took them with me on a 2 week trip to Tahiti where I would be snorkeling almost every day. They are slightly thinner than I expected. They worked great with my fins (added no extra size to my feet like my booties do) and when walking on the beach or smooth rocks. They are slightly better than bare feet for more jagged rocks but not nearly the protection that booties, Chacos, or cheap flip-flops would be on such surfaces. I started with the blue pair and they lasted a couple days before the seam at the top of the foot/ankle just started disintegrating or shreading or something. I was kind of disappointed in how fast that happened, but I was happy I had gotten the 2 pairs, so just switched over to the green ones and they held strong through the rest of the 2 weeks and are still in good shape (I snorkeled and swam in them A LOT!). I never went into chlorinated water which, from what I read in the reviews, seemed to be the cause of a lot of problems with them, so I can't add anything on that.

Since I read reviews saying the sole wears out quickly I ordered a can of rubberizing spray too (the kind for car undercoating or whatever) and sprayed the bottoms of one pair with a couple coats. I've been strutting around my front porch, walkway, and yard for a little bit today to test the durability of the soles with their new reinforcement. So far so good (see photo).
My spray job was a little messy though since tape doesn't stick so well to the neoprene. Spraying my second pair now and will probably do three or four coats on them. I'll add an update later after wearing them to the river.
Update: I wore these wading in a river most of the day, digging my heels into a Big Mable tube, and again walking on a couple of rocky river banks (there is nearly no protection from discomfort from rocks). The reinforced soles began to breakdown some, but they are still pretty solid.
