This LNB did work with my Vip612 receiver when I initially installed this LNB on my very old DishPro dish, so it does appear to be at least somewhat backwards compatible. I did have some difficulty setting up my new Hopper3 until I read online that the coax feeding the Hopper3 had to be hooked to port 1 on the Hybrid LNB (my old installation used 2 RG6 runs to the LNB so I just plugged both coax's into both ports with the second being unused in the house). I changed the coax running to the Hopper3 to port 1 on the LNB and it worked perfectly.

Great find. I bought this to replace the one on our house. We have been cleaning house of all things "Leased" by Dish. This is one of the things listed in our Residential Customer Agreement that they "own" and expect back Immediately upon deactivation or whatever down the road.
This was the last piece and direct replacement for the "leased" model on our roof. we took the old one off two bolts, and put the new one on. packed up the old in the box this came in, and sent it back to dish with a note saying "returning due to buying our own" please note account as having been returned. If you read the complaints out there this is a big part of what they hound you for if you move or turn them off or switch to a new company. its ridiculous. so we are giving them all their leased equip back before we ever need to.

1 Wireless Joey
1 Wireless Access Point
1 Hybrid LNBF
2 replacement receivers they sent us that we refused upon delivery
1 Hybrid Solo Node
Do yourself a favor and get out form under their "leased" Equipment way ahead of ever needing to. Nothing is ever free pay me now or pay me way way more later.

We purchased this to use with the Winegard SK-1000 Trav'ler Dish multi-Satellite TV Antenna, so we could use Hopper 3. In spite of what Dish will tell you, they do work together, and very nicely. But don't expect Dish to install them together...you will have to get an independent contractor that works with Dish to do it.
