Do the job right with these!
Handy601•September 3, 2017
I watched a bunch of youtube videos that had you doing all kind of stupid stuff with zip ties, etc. JUST BUY THESE. Seriously. Do it. 3 of em are the same, one is different and it goes on the top latch. When you are done, you can have the good feeling of knowing that you did it right and it will probably never need done again.

Cable slots may need to be widened to make this part work
CJBG•August 12, 2017
The slots on the aluminum cable ends were too narrow to allow insertion of the 1999 Ford Expedition latch cable. I was able to use the parts for the door latch after widening the slots with a metal cutting power saw blade held with a pair of vice grips. In my case, the other cable for the window glass was frayed and binding so I had to replace the cable for the liftgate window. However, if the window cable had been serviceable, the provided cable end for the window latch did have the correct shape and the latch cable parts would have worked after widening the slot. Incidentally, the RED180001 cable I purchased on Amazon did not have the correct shape for the window latch end and had to be modified to work as explained in my review of that item.

Not a good fit for 2005 Ford F-150
Seasid4me•July 20, 2017
I ordered these because of reviews. I would have been better off the buy the entire OEM latch & system for $223. The mechanic spent 2 hours labor trying to make them fit. Had to drill entire shaft out to accommodate the cable. Maybe some are just easier than others. Not complaining because it is a great idea and did save some $$. But, I would not have been able to install myself.
