I purchased this as a gift for a friend who has been on about a 2 year journey with stained glass art work. She had no idea that there was a tool that would cut circles! She has set up an entire work space for her art and it was really nice to be able to give her something super useful that will bring her joy for years and remove some of the tedium from the process. I will update the review once I have some of her feedback, but based on her reaction and the how sturdy the lens seems, I think you will be happy.

The knob broke off after only a couple of turns hardly cuts into the glass wish I had not bought it.
Using the cutter!

This is great. I'm not an expert but I can give pointers. I used the broken glass as a template, traced around with a sharpie marker. Adjust it so the cutting wheel follows mark. Now use eye protection and gloves. Put a drop of oil on mark. Very lightly rotate so oil goes around. Now with pressure rotate around. Stop when you get all way round. Now with a glass cutter (get one from hardware store) lay piece on clean flat surface and score a line close to the circle. Snap off. Now flip over and gently tap with glass cutter handle and watching scored circle you'll see the circle score go all the way through glass! Now carefully lay on clean surface and score a line close to circle and snap off. Eventually you get to the circle. Then what worked for me was a small inexpensive round grinding wheel in a drill press at lowest speed, soaking wheel first in water. I found I could bevel and smooth the edge. It's a great machine!
