I needed to buy a carrier for my cat to travel in cabin with me on a Delta flight when I moved to another city. After hours of research, I settled on this and all in all, we both liked this carrier. Now let me break down the pros and cons:

Pros:

- Beds
There are 2 in case of accidents. There's a hard insert to ensure rigidity on the bottom. The beds are very soft to the touch.

- Flexible top
This is important for some flights. I didn't end up needing to push the top of mine down to fit under the seat, but it could have been easily pushed down.

- Mesh exterior
The majority of the carrier is see through, except for parts of the long sides. This was nice because I was able to easily check on her, while she was able to see that I was still there.

- Doors
1 door fully zips while the other partially zips. I liked the partially zipped one because I was able to pet and comfort my pet during my flight. The zippers are not flimsy and stayed put the entire time.

- Strap to attach to rolling carry on
This was very convenient since I had multiple bags.

- Roomy
My cat is 8 lbs and I put her favorite bed on top of one of the carrier beds and there was still a good amount of space. She was able to turn around easily.

Cons:

- Chemical smell
There was a strong chemical smell when I received the carrier. I left it outside, in front of a fan, and in a ventilated room and it took over a week for the smell to leave. My cat avoided the carrier during this time.

- Slightly flimsy
After using the side strap with my rolling carry on for about an hour and a half in total, either the strap started stretching or the top of the carrier started being too flexible. The carrier started leaning away from the carry on handle to the point where I was afraid the carrier could've slipped off the top of the carry on. My cat is only 8 lbs and calm, so it couldn't have been her weight.

All in all, I'd recommend this carrier. Just buy it early enough to ensure there's no chemical smell when you do have to use it.

This works great with our Chihuahua puppy. We bought it primarily to use when we take him to the vets. We do plan on travelling with him when he gets older and this should work great in our SUV. The only problem we have had is one of the zippers is really stiff. I think that will be fixed as we use it more.

I bought this for my three pound Yorkie and my 10 pound Morkie and they both fit comfortably in it and it's airline approved! It fits under the seat of the airplane and the best part is the tab that unzips so your pups can breathe while in the carrier under the seat without being able to jump out. This is a great deal for a sturdy, comfortable carrier for dogs or cats. Completely satisfied!

This carrier definitely deserves five stars because I find it to be not only great quality but also because the seller gives great customer service. I have a small rat terrier that happens to be taller than most thus he did not fit. However, I decided that instead of returning it I'm just going to donate it to a local rescue organization. But even so, I wanted to give them five stars because they definitely deserve it. May I suggest you acquire the large size of the Gen7Pets carrier and make one that same size. Both your carriers combined would make one awesome carrier for not too small, small dogs... or cats.

I ordered the updated version of this carrier for our five pound Yorkie. It is the perfect size for him and gives him space to turn around and stand, with plenty of ventilation and viewing space. I've had other carriers before and this one is superior--heavier fabric, large zippers and inside supports so that the top does not collapse. It is well designed, with a padded carrying handle, two pads and a shoulder strap with its own storage compartment. I was amazed at the quality and features for a reasonable price.
