So far so good. Gentle shaver for my cat.
ANAGEV✓ Verified Purchase•January 8, 2018
I purchased the shaver to shave my cat Tweetie who was ill and very skinny, her fur was getting matted in spots. I bought this specific shaver as a result of customer reviews that stated the shaver was quieter with less vibration than the larger shavers. This was important to me since my kitty was so frail. I am so glad I purchased this shaver for her, it worked well and she was able to get used to the noise and vibration pretty quickly. This is a gentle shaver so do not expect it to shave off large or thick pieces of fur. With thicker mats I had to be patient and go over the area, shaving off a little at a time being careful not to nick her skin. Pulling the mat up a little bit to get between the mat and skin worked best and thank you to the customer review that mentioned this tip. Customer reviews for this product were very helpful by the way. So I hope mine will be helpful to someone. My cat passed away last week but I'm glad I was able to give her a beauty treatment when she was sick and update her fur look to her feline best. :)
Life saver!!

I seriously could not be happier!
Let me preface by admitting I have never -ever- used clippers in my life. Not even for people hair. I can't compare these to any other brand, I can only tell you my experience. I had no idea what to expect or what I was doing but I was getting desperate. My dog is a long-haired something or another mix, who also is incredibly intolerant of being restrained, so vet visits, groomers, etc have always been a nightmare. For years I have just let his fur do it's own thing, no cuts, just brushing daily and the occasional bath. Anyone with a long-haired double-coated dog knows how terrible the shedding can be. No matter how much I brush and sweep, it seems like there is still hair everywhere.
He started to get some hot spots this year, which he was chewing raw. He would chew the spots so bad, they would bleed and mat up his hair. We tried a handful of things- creams, ointments, new food, vitamins, special shampoo, sprays, Apoquel, the whole nine yards, short of getting him put on steroids (which we try to avoid if at all possible). It's hard getting cream and ointment on irritated skin that's under an inch of fur. So this was my last hope before making a trip back to the vet. Was hoping I could shave him down so I could lather him up with no problems!
I surprised myself. He surprised me too. The clippers are not loud, but they certainly aren't silent either. Regardless the sound was soft enough to not spook him any, so I went for it. Pretty sure he just thought I was brushing him for most of the process (which he LOVES), so he let me trim him down in ease.. at least for the most part. He still has a nice little bush going on in his butt crack but I'll take what I can get at this point.
I am happy to report that the bare-backed slathering has improved his skin ten fold, and I could not have done it without these. And my house!! Oh, am I enjoying a shed-free house! For the first time in years, I can skip sweeping for a week and have no one notice. We will definitely be using these again in the future. I just need to practice a little with the guards and hopefully soon enough it will look at least semi "professional."

Worked great on my long-haired cat!

This clipper works great! :) It arrived with a charge and everything in the online picture.
I used it on my long-haired cat. I was slightly nervous about clipping her myself but became more confident after reading some reviews and watching some do-it-yourself videos on YouTube. I didn't use any of the attachments--just the clipper itself and kept it on 0.8. It is important to remember to keep the skin taut in order to avoid nicking the skin and to also help give the coat a smoother look. Give the cat a break once in a while especially if he/she starts to become antsy. I put a can of wet food in front of my cat and was able to shave most of her with little to no problems. She doesn't like her belly being touched so near the end my boyfriend had to help hold her while I clipped her underside. When it was over, she was still irritated for a couple of minutes but she quickly got over it and wanted to cuddle with me again. She still looks cute (we gave her a lion cut) and she doesn't seem bothered at all by her lack of fur. :)
I'm really, really happy I gave this a try. My boyfriend was skeptical at first but now he thinks it was a good idea to help with the shedding and the matts. I would definitely recommend this to other pet owners--just remember to be gentle with the pet you're grooming so that you don't end up hurting your little friend. :)

Great for long haired cats!

I have a long haired, soft, fluffy kitty and have had tried many clippers before but not one ever worked. I read some reviews and decided to give this one a try, and much to my surprise it shaved the cat right down (tip... very unexpected, or I would have used a guard). It's quiet, so much that he purred through the whole thing. I did the whole cat with the charge right out of the box! Amazing!
Excellent Bargain, Good Performance

I have an English Springer Spaniel (of the field line) and she has pretty coarse and wild hair when it grows out. I've tried other clippers and they either lack the power or sharpness to bite in properly and get a good trim on her hair. Instead they just bind up and pull and snag. And I've tried a few, some being much more expensive than these clippers. So I saw this model with its very low price and great reviews and I rolled the dice. Well, it was easily worth it. These are relatively small, light and easy to hold. They're wireless as well, which I was somewhat concerned about. I thought they'd be weak on power and/or drain quickly. But they did neither. The blades are sharp and effective and I ran them for about 45 minutes and they just kept on working. These cost about half of a single trip to the groomer, so they've already put money in my pocket after one use. I hope they hold up for several more sessions. Anyway, these are a great value and they offer great performance. Great buy.
