AWESOME EXPERIENCE SO FAR!

I haven't been able to sleep in a flat bed in years. Partly due to the fact that I have kyphosis so I have to sleep on my side, partly because of back surgery. Consequently I've slept on a love seat or in a recliner. When traveling, I've had to make do by creating a bed from whatever furniture and pillows are available.

We bought a good quality 12" foam king size mattress several years ago. When we ordered the 2 twin XL adjustable bed frames I read the reviews and questions and found out that you could synchronize the beds to move in unison. In hopes of saving some money, I held off on ordering 2 mattresses in hopes that we could use the mattress we already had. So far, so good!

The beds were easy to assemble. The remotes need to be paired to the control box. Do that before you flip the bed over and you'll save yourself some time and having to lay on the floor to reach under the bed. A beep confirms the remote has been paired. Nice.

These beds vibration motors have 3 speeds. The description didn't indicate that when I read through it several times before purchasing. I almost bought the Posture + model just to get the 3 speeds. I would have been disappointed, as this model also had it, and it's really just a little vibration. It may be more impressive with a thinner mattress, but no matter. It is a nice extra.

We had to put the legs on their highest setting to fit our bed. Due to the style of our bed, we are not able to use the USB connections. If I were to make a recommendation, it would be to make the USB box separate from the bed frame so that it could be relocated to another part of the frame. This would also enable to locate one on each side of the bed, and mount them in an accessible location regardless of your bed style. Built in, in a fixed position on one side, when using 2 Twin XL frames to make a King size, the frame on the right will have the USB ports blocked by the left frame (when facing to bed from the foot).

One of the vibration motors was broken upon arrival. It was making a rattling sound that I first mistook for thick paper being crinkled. I contacted Classic Brands and they overnighted me a replacement motor which was easy to replace, and gave me the opportunity to speak with "Gayle" who everyone raves about. I understand now why. She was very helpful and followed up via email with a tracking number. I took the old motor apart and found that a small plastic tab had broken off, probably in transit, that was being moved around by the motor until it eventually jammed the motor. Luckily, I unplugged it from the control box as it could have overheated and potentially caused a fire.

I am please with the build quality. I am an Engineer, and trained to look for weak points or potential failure points. I initially see none. I've been sleeping in the bed since I got it set up on 7/3, and have been able to sleep through the night AND GET UP IN THE MORNING UNASSISTED! That's huge!

They do not recommend raising the bed beyond the max height of 10.5" which is the maximum achievable height with the modular legs provided, so know that going in and don't plan to raise it higher due to the fact that the legs could bend.

I am looking for a bed skirt that will work on the bed frame now. It would be nice if Classic Brands offered them so I wouldn't have to try to find one that will work mechanically. This seems like it would be a good new product for them. Hint, I'd make it a wrap around style that would secure to the base magnetically. This would aid in washing as well as you could attach the magnets to the washtub and dryer tub.

There are a number of sellers who appear to sell this same bed under different names. I'd recommend buying from Classic Brands as they support their product and are good to work with.

Update 8/9/18: New massage motor arrived and was installed and is functioning. A few days ago the head motor on one of the beds stopped working. I emailed Classic Brands and they suspected it was the control box and overnighted a replacement. That did not remedy the problem so I emailed them again and they overnighted a new motor which arrived today. The new motor has different cabling that will not connect to the control box. I have emailed them again and await their reply.
Researched many, many adjustable's and I'm extremely pleased I selected this one

Update 6/10/18: I just wrote my review and the USB ports stopped charging. I looked under the bed and its still plugged in and its warm but they dont work - I've gone all over Amazon to try to figure pout how to message to get help and I can't find assistance anywhere. .So far I am very happy with this bed base - I have had it for three weeks so far. I have been sleeping in a recliner for over 2 years because of fibromyalgia. I finally decided to try sleeping in a bed again. I had a memory foam mattress previously but I would be so comfortable that I wouldn't move enough and then when I did move I would be in a lot of pain. I then slept in a hospital bed that had a crappy mattress. The adjust-ability of the bed was great but the mattress was not so I decided to marry the two.

I researched so many adjustable bed frames and memory foam mattresses that I was beginning to drive myself batty. I had decided on this bed frame rather quickly - the mattress took a little longer. I had decided on this frame because it was in the right price range, it had good reviews, and the functions were what I was looking for.

I received the bed base and had no problems setting it up (I ordered a full size bed). I'm 53 and on disability but it was really easy to set up. It was for the most part together right out of the box. I had emptied my room and the UPS driver brought the box right in my bedroom. I initially put two of the pieces for each leg on, keeping one section off, I later decided to take the other section off to lower the bed because I have a small dog and if I put the foot of the bed up it was a bit too high for her to be jumping on and off and I didn't want her to get hurt. I did find it a bit odd that the box that has the wires plugged into it slides into a metal shelf under the bed frame but there was no way to make it stay in there. It would have fallen out when flipping the bed frame over so I used a twistie to secure it in the metal casing. I had someone help me flip it over so that I would not damage the legs and I was good to go.

I have not used the memory buttons yet but I plan on it. I do find that I sleep in the zero gravity position, with a couple of small adjustments most of the time and it seems to be the most comfortable position for me to sleep in. I was very surprised to find that the massage actually works! I thought that it couldn't possibly work since it has to go through the mattress. I also thought that since it was just head and feet that it would only do head and feet. But, at the high setting you definitely can feel it and it vibrates the whole body. Of course its not like a massage but you do get good vibration from it (it startles my dog so I don't do it that much). Its also good that I live on a first floor. If I was above someone I would not use it because I imagine the ceiling of the person under me would be shaking.

The only minor problem I had was that I have hard wood floors and the bed would move easily and if it got too close to the wall and I lowered the head of the bed it would get stuck on the plug in the outlet and it wouldn't go down all the way. So I put a rug at the bottom of my bed so now it doesn't move around at all and I don't have to worry about that. Other than that - which is a very minor issue- I have not found any other cons with this bed frame.
Best Adjustable Bed for the Price

First of all, I ordered a King Size Classic Brands Adjustable Bed Frame. After a lot of research going to different sites and looking through all the reviews for each of the adjustable beds, I decided to take the chance and order from Classic Brands. I have bad acid reflux during my sleep and had purchased a pillow wedge. However, I would always slide down during the night and wake up with a sore neck or back from sleeping incorrectly on the pillow. With this new bed, I can sleep with the head of the bed elevated just a little and not have to worry about sliding down.

Delivery: The delivery was for Noon to 3 PM. They arrived right at Noon. The Amazon Delivery folks were super nice. Normally they are suppose to bring it just right up to the door. I asked if they could take it to my master bedroom which is on the same floor just past the living room. They gladly did this and made my job very easy. The king size frame came in one large box that probably weighed close to 200 lbs. Picture attached.

Assembly/Set Up: I was worried about getting this frame because I did not know how complicated the set-up/assembly would be and I didn't want to spend hours trying to set this up. When I opened the box, I saw that the bed frame was in two different pieces, the head part and the foot part. It came with four boxes that were in between the two parts of the frames: 1.Legs, 2. Head Motor, 3. Foot Motor, 4. Remote Control. A simple color photo instruction book comes with the frame too.
The legs are put on first. You can utilize 3 different heights with the legs and it is very easy to install with an L Wrench that is provided. The heights are 1. 4 inches, 2. 6.5 inches, and 3. 10 inches. The middle legs are how the two frames are attached together. Pictures attached for the legs.
The next part was to put the motor into place. This was very simple to do. You cannot get the motors confused because they are two different sizes in length and can only be attached in one direction too. The motors are attached by a pin which makes the installation very easy.
Lastly, connect all the cords underneath which are color coded.
SO SURPRISED! The assembly only took about 30 minutes to put together. **2 PEOPLE REQUIRED** Although most of the installation was very easy, you still need 2 people. Mainly because the installation is done upside down and you will need to turn the bed frame over to the other side. Remember, the bed frame weighs about 200 lbs.

Pros:
1. Easy installation. It took me less than 30 minutes to assemble and utilize.
2. The motor is very quiet and very smooth.
3. The massager for the head and foot works great, but that is not why I purchased this bed frame.
4. They provide all the tools needed to assemble. No other tools needed.
5. The remote is wireless and easy as just putting in the batteries to connect.
6. 2 USB ports if you want to use them.
7. Works with foam mattresses or hybrid mattresses

Cons:
1. The USB port is in the middle of the bed. Kinda too far for me to use. It would have been better off closer to the head of the bed.
2. It is very heavy but that means it is sturdy too.

Overall, I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with this purchase. I have used it for one night and love it. I have so much control of the height of the head of the bed unlike my pillow wedge which was too high. I would recommend this bed for anyone that needs to adjust their bed in any way. My mother came over to look at it and she purchased a queen size for herself. The king size adjustable bed is just what I needed.

Please take a look at all the pictures below which will help you understand my review.
a genuine value in a world full of overpriced foam and adjustable bases
Le Creuset✓ Verified PurchaseJune 30, 2023
i've had experiences with a leggett and platt (l&p) adjustable base (brookwood from costco) that costs literally 3x more than this bed. here are the key features we found in shopping and using adjustable bases:

1. cost: L&P is 3 times more expensive than this--amazon's classic brands bed
2. elevation of head: works perfectly--equal to l&p. i think the bend point for the classic brands is about 30 inches--the l&p is about 27 inches. to us, i thought it might make a difference to move the pivot point on my back--but really, it didn't. i would say the classic brands motor is slightly quieter and much faster.
3. foot elevation: equal on both beds. both also have the metal bottom supports to hold the mattress in. once again, the motor is quieter and faster than the L&P.
4. fit and finish--this is where the lower cost of the classic brands really shows up. the more expensive L&P is slightly better all around--everything fits and assembles easily with the L&P. for this classic brands, though, it looks fine from the top and exterior (which is what we would see when the bed is assembled). but underneath you can see a few loose threads. also, a lot of the parts fit--but not without some effort. for example, more than a few reviewers mention how the four corner legs may not screw in easily--for me one of them took some forcing. i think it was due to a little pain being in the threads of one of the legs or the hole. more importantly, two prongs that hold the head motor (that elevates the upper half of the bed) didn't fit easily. i talk about this in more detail at the end, but this was the biggest detraction of the lower priced classic brands bed.
5. customer service: haven't had to call L&P yet, which may be a sign of great customer service. but i have no complaints with the responsiveness of classic brands so far. even though there is no number to talk to a human... (i've called their service number, pressed whatever number for tech support, and it just loops you back to the main message--so if you need to talk to someone, this bed is not for you). but for me, all the customer service i get is via email--and their attitude is excellent and responsive. also, i found this video really helpful for installation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5Dc9X98Cjg (or search for "Adjustable Comfort Adjustable Bed Assembly Instructions" by "classic brands." frankly--the attached instructions for this classic brands bed were far more clear and easy to understand than the L&P instructions, which is actually just misleading if not plainly wrong.
6. the classic brands remote control--it is quite nice. powerful, very rectangular, and clear which way is top (where the illuminated and helpful screen is).

here are the things that we wondered about while we were purchasing but turned out to be less important in using the beds
7. this classic brands adjustable base does NOT have wall hugger. for us, this really is a trivial thing. wall hugger may be worth $100 more to me. but it does add a complicated motion to the movement of the beds. i tend to prefer simple as that means less service in fixing a mechanism one day.
8. the massage mechanism is quieter than the l&p--equally effective, but we don't use this feature at all other than to fake annoy each other on quiet sundays. we have neighbors downstairs, and at least the classic brands won't be waking any neighbors up.
9. usb plugs, underlights, other little bells and whistles--does not matter to us one bit. for usb charging, we use far faster chargers we bought on amazon--maybe next time, the bed companies will let us attach our own phone chargers somehow with an outlet plug.
10. also the L&P has velcro strips to help hold the bed in place. in effect, they add more crinkly noise as the bed goes up and down. so the classic brands is slightly a winner here.

for the price, classic brands is a great value. totally worth it. the delivery from amazon was great--the fellows were very nice. if i had to do this all over again--even in both beds were the same price, i'd have bought the classic brands bed. but the fact that L&P is 3 times more expensive... it is a no brainer. i can literally buy 2-3 of these beds before hitting the same retail price of most other offerings.

i'd say my one caveat was in putting together the bed. most of it was really easy, except for attaching the head motor to the bed. one of the prongs that holds the head motor (the one closer to the middle of the bed) was a bit too tight. the motor arm could fit halfway into the prongs but no further, making the cotter pin unusable. yes, i did try wd40, prying, and heating the iron and bending it. so to use it, i had to consider removing the plastic covering (which probably has a purpose in protecting the head motor. i will say jim at the email offered to send me a replacement upper half of the bed--so the response was instant and generous. (that would have been very heavy for him to ship out to me).

This may be a little long but well worth it after I read 700 plus question about this item. I get the bad out of the way first. 1) I hope Amazon or this seller will address the shipping complaint with UPS because it sucked. I was surprised to be receiving this bed frame just two days after I ordered it. When I learned it was arriving Wednesday 11:30 am -3:30 pm, I had to pay UPS 8 dollars to lock in a two-hour window of my choice, I chose 11:30 am to 1:30 Pm. I had my brother and other help to come and be here because of its size. At 1:50 pm, UPS told me they had a problem with their truck but no specifics, they delayed delivery until today. At 1:50 pm today, UPS notified me that it would be Friday. I called them yesterday and today because I have been waiting two days, staying at home, tapping my feet and out 8 bucks...After another phone call and a transfer, I found out the package was not deliverable at my address. I inquired as to why and UPS customer support had to reach out to the office that had it to get an answer for me. They told me it was too heavy for the driver to lift. My package had been on that truck since yesterday, the driver just did not want to deliver it. I understand that but they did not have to lie to me. I prearranged help to be here when they sent me notification it was out for delivery... Bad on UPS. I did get the bed frame today but had to jump through hoops, now I have to get the 8 dollars refunded.
Now the bed, The bed was set up in about one hour because I was working alone. I could not get the help I had yesterday. I got it all put together ( I purchased two Twin xl bed frames) One of the beds worked right out of the box. The other bed was not working but after trying multiple times to get it programmed, I went to the manufacturer's website and had both beds working and synchronized in no time at all, with one remote. They are now working perfectly.
My inside bed frame measurements were 77-1/4" x 80-1/4". The side boards (The biggest worry for me) on my bed are 11-1/2" from the top of the floor to the top of the boards. The two twin XL bed frames fit right in with about a finger width on each side left over.~A little tight, but it fit and the bed platform sits inside, about 1" below the top of the boards with all the leg extensions installed. The length of the bed frames was no problem for my bed frame. I have about an inch of clearance at the foot of my bed and about 1/2" at the headboard. The twin XL's should fit inside a bed frame that is 76-1/2", There is wiggle room but I would not go any smaller and if you're using twin XL beds, you want to use them paired because they will rub on each other if you do not. I have a 12" Serta, Sleep to go mattress so my bed height is 26". That is perfect if you are 6 ft. tall or taller, it will put your feet flat on the ground, sitting on the bed with a foam mattress. Now for the sounds: The motors are 5 STAR, very quiet ride! I love this feature. I have Meniers' Disease and Semi-Circular Canal Dehiscence, Sound and vibrations are the two things I cannot handle. As far as the vibration feature, I am sorry, but cannot give a fair review because of the illness I have, I cannot use that function. I only know that it works and it vibrates and there are one at the foot and one behind the shoulder on each bed. The head and foot both raise. A lot of people keep asking how high does the head raise. Well, for me, high enough to make you very uncomfortable if you like sitting like that and with the foot raised, you may feel like you are going to be folded and squeezed. I'd also like to add that the reason I purchased the Twin XL's is that they were 1) Cheaper than the single king platform. 2)I wanted the option of having a split king in the future. 3) I can take them down and move them around with no problems. I was worried about getting the King up 15 steps, then into the master bedroom. The Twin XL's sole this problem. Bottom line: This is at a great price compared to other similar models. I live on a budget and these platforms fit my needs!
