I bought the medium red and silver containers. The pictures for the red item clearly show the travel cannister. However, it does not include the travel cannister. The words make no reference to it so it doesn't surprise me that I didn't get one, but it's a little misleading when the photo shows it. Some colors do include it. Mine also did not include extra CO2 filters. The first one I ordered (silver) also had no travel cannister, but had extra filters. Read the description and know what to expect.

I purchased the orange canister when it was on sale. When it arrived, the mini canister had a tiny nick - barely visible. Coffee Gator followed up the purchase with an email to verify I was happy with the product. I sent them a picture of the nick, expecting that they would apologize and that be it. I had no intentions of getting a refund as it was barely noticeable - it was more just an FYI for their supply line. They went above and beyond and offered a 99% off coupon to reorder the mini canister, or they could just send me one in a different color. Customer service matters and they show it matters to them, too.

As for the product - my coffee tastes better than it ever has. I'm now buying one for the rest of my family members for Christmas. If you like your coffee fresh, buy this canister.

After receiving this item, I wish I would have went with a lower priced alternative so that I wouldn't feel like I overpaid. The quality of this Chinese product is not worth $30+ dollars. The pictures look great and the reviews are great but after having received the product, the quality of the hinges, the finish of the canister and the thickness of the metal are all subpar, not in line at similar items of this price point. Not a huge ding on the product but look for other cheaper alternatives if you like getting your moneys worth.

Updated Review on 11/12/17 - I am updating my review to reflect Coffee Gator's customer service. They contacted me regarding my un satisfaction and offered to resolve it to make me happy which they did. I really appreciate good customer service so I am updating my review to commend them on this.

I ordered 10lbs of my favorite coffee -two 5lb bags - and needed storage containers to ensure the quality of the beans as I slowly make my way through them. I ordered a 5lb bag of cafe and a 5lb bag of decafe; I mix my own half-cafe brew, meaning I have to open both 5lb bags. I ended up ordering 5 of these coffee gators. I ordered 2 of the large blue ones for decafe beans, two of the large red one for cafe beans, and the regular size grey one for premixed half-cafe for the countertop. As you can see from the pictures, the seal/lid on the grey container aligns perfectly; however, the seals/lids on the larger containers do no align. I tried my hardest, wiggling the lid this way and that, to get them to align with negative results. I had already boxed up one of the blue ones when it occurred to me to take pictures. 5 stars for the grey container, but 2 stars for the others - they are being returned.

This is a great coffee canister. I very much like the grey color I bought. Looks very nice. The canister does an excellent job in keeping the coffee beans fresh. The CO2 release valve is a great feature. The locking mechanism is very solid and very easy to use.

My only concern is that the month dial does not work for me. I tried every which way to get it to rotate. No luck. The day dial works easily and I have been using it. Though for the amount of time I keep the beans in the canister it really doesn't matter much. I had returned a few other ones I bought thinking the dial to be defective. When I got this one and still had a problem I decided it wasn't worth returning and kept it. I received an email from the company following up on the purchase and wrote them back about the dial. They responded fairly quickly and finally told me they would be working on getting the dial to work better in future models. To make up for the trouble they gave me a refund and told me I could keep the canister. I was impressed. I didn't ask for a refund but after I told them of how I had returned a few of them and finally thought it wasn't worth returning this one, the woman following up told me she was sorry and for my trouble they wanted to issue a refund. Wow... very impressive.

I also discovered that the CO2 valve really doesn't need attention down the road even though they ship a few replacements with the canister. It doesn't need to be replaced unless it gets wet or for aesthetic reasons (it will eventually discolor). Nice to know.

If the month dial doesn't bother you (I assume you may have the same problem) then go ahead and get this canister. It's a bit pricey but it is a solid container and does a great job.
