Purchased this for the purpose of preparing scalloped potatoes, and also I thought it would add new textures to future meals with the other attachments. I sliced 3 potatoes, decided to get cocky and slice a few without the hand guard- big mistake. It effortlessly cut a flap out of my index finger. I continued the meal with the guard, with great consistency, but am now just beginning to grow more skin almost a week later. In case you're wondering, the uniformity helped make for a great dish. I stand by my high rating, it was my own fault, not the mandolin.

This slicer is great. It is easy to change the blades and stores all inside the slicer for a compact little machine. I am so glad I purchased it. If you buy it I think you will be pleased too. I am replacing one that was bigger and didn't do half the variety of slice/shredding that this one does.

I was impressed with how fast the Mandoline was delivered, and like it a lot. This is the first time I've used this device, and would really have have liked to have seen an instruction sheet of some kind that would have shown what the result of each blade looked like so that it would make it easier to choose the one I wanted. While there is a picture on the side of the box saying what each blade does, seeing an example of the product after being sliced would have been instructive and helpful.

i have used this several times using the 2.5mm blade. It worked well on onions, celery, red pepper, cucumbers and even carrots (when slicing carrots - recommend using long, thick long ones - I couldn't use the pronged holder and stopped the slicing action leaving at least a 3-inch piece to make sure my fingers would be safe). Also, the price was very reasonable and it was promptly delivered.

I'm so pleased with this purchase. I never had a box grater before, but since I've bought this one, I've thrown my old flat grater in the trash. This box grater will easily grate and shred just about anything (cheese, carrots, potatoes). It's quite sharp though, so be careful you don't nick your knuckles. The thing that impresses me the most is that it has a nice rubber grip on the bottom that makes it very stable, and you can slip off the bottom rubber grip to wash it too!. It's not as wide as some I looked at but I like the slenderness of this grater for storage reasons. It seems to be very durable too, holding up well in the dishwasher. Some of the holes are very fine so I recommend using an old toothbrush to clean them if you zest anything sticky with it (like garlic or citrus), but that's to be expected. I highly recommend this grater for anyone who needs a new grater - - you'll be surprised at the difference!
