Very disappointing. Refund requested.

I'm not a purist and artificial flavorings in candy don't bother me per se, but some of the flavorings used here are decidedly nasty and unnatural with a distinct chemical characteristic. Additionally, some flavors were unreasonably salty compared with other brands I've eaten.
I am requesting a refund from the seller.
UPDATE: The Seller quickly authorized return for refund without issue within hours of my contact with Amazon. A happy ending to an otherwise disappointing experience.
BTW:
My 5 lb assorted bag weighed in at 5lbs 3oz. Random sampling of individual unwrapped pieces gave average of approximately 7 grams each. This brought the approximate piece count to 336 by weight.
I am requesting a refund from the seller.

Taffy Town Is My Family's Favorite Salt Water Taffy

We live in a coastal town with many tourist shops selling salt water taffy. None of the shops actually make it. It all comes from a number of different taffy makers. Of all the ones I've tried, Taffy Town is my favorite. Made in Utah, it's available for purchase here at a fraction of the cost charged in shops, plus it's always fresher than can be purchased locally The only reason that I'm not rating it five stars is because what's offered in the assortment isn't always consistent month to month. For the most part, it includes our family favorites, but the proportions change (more root beer this month than last, or less licorice than last month, etc, etc). We keep a bowl filled for guests and people always remark that it must be great to live in a place where it can be purchased. We just nod. Why shatter the illusion?

some flavors tasted like industrial solvents, others actually taste like salt. we all tasted each flavor then threw out over half the bag because no one in the family could stand the stuff.
i suggest leaving a dish of this out for the kids - just seeing it out seemed to have curbed their appetite for sweets.

Awesome, soft and flavorful! This is why I fell in love with taffy as a kid, this really brings back memories and I am not even that old. Regular store taffy isn't bad but it's just OKAY when compared to this and when something is just okay you turn to something else looking for something better.
My only issues are two things: I am only a fan of like half the flavors, which is frustrating because everyone else in my house is a fan of the same flavors as me, you have great choices but for the 5lb order I would prefer an option to pick 5 flavors so we don't end up staring at many pounds of taffy no one wants! Second issue is some of the taffy pieces are hard, like rock hard, and it's a bit more streaky in some flavors but we've definitely learned to test the taffy with a pinch before unwrapping so we can warm it in our hands to soften it if it's hard. Ops and my kids report that in the last order the flavor of the Chocolate tasted off no biggie but we set those aside!

Taffy very hard, possibly a bit stale. Expiration date on bag only 4 mo. out.

Amazon "Buy it again?" steered me to this supplier (FSN), and away from "The Nutty Fruit House", curious?!
