great but not for fast group riding

this tire is actually a great deal for a bike that is used to run to the store or for a kids bike that lives in an area where flats are constant. it it well made and fits the rim great, but its very hard to put on. you will likely need two people to install it, but, its because its not got a tube and doesn't go flat so the tire has to fill in the tube space too. it rolls with more resistance than a normal tube/tubeless tire because it flexes alot when riding so the tire seems only half "aired" up when you are on the bike... more rubber on the road so more resistance. it would be great on a touring bike in parts of the world where tubes are hard to come by or for someone who just wants to not worry about flats and isn't worried about high speed riding in a group. a buddy and i tried this on his recumbent and after a few days of attempting to ride in the medium speed group, we had to take it off and put a tube tire back on. this will be used on his commuter bike though as it seems way more suited for that type of work. a great idea and great for certain uses though

This was the most challenging tire I've ever installed. Recommend a strenuous pre-stretch, zip ties and two METAL tire levers. Scratched the rims badly in the process. Intend to use only on the indoor trainer to avoid flats. Feels plastic-like and imagine slippery outside... ??

A month of use on the indoor trainer and this thing is horrible.

Bone rattlers, definitely sluggish. I wouldn't like them on a freewheel, too much rolling resistance, but that's not as much of an issue on a fixed gear and it's nice to have a no maintenance beater that's always flat free and ready to roll.

I'll caution that I've got these on an absolute jalopy. The install was so terribly difficult, I will never be able to get them off of the wheelset in one piece, and because all of the road bumps transfer right into the wheel, I have some concerns that I could taco something or pop a spoke and I wouldn't want to damage a nice bike by riding with these things.

Still, cheap and useful for the right application.

A ho-hum tire for front-wheel use on a trainer

I purchased this as a front tire for a dedicated trainer bike mounted on a Wahoo trainer. Since there is no rear wheel, I only need a front wheel. Annoyingly, I found the front tire would slowly leak down and I didn't want to take my floor pump from the garage to the third floor where I have the bike set up; inevitably, I'd leave the pump in the wrong place. For the price of a second pump, I got this tire. Is it a good riding tire? No. It has ZERO give and it feels "greasy" on pavement on a brief trip around the neighborhood. It was also the hardest tire I've ever had to mount, requiring a serious downhill tire lever and the help of a friend to mount it and subsequent use of VAR tire pliers to get it properly seated in a Mavic Open Sport rim. However, for stationary use to hold up the front of the bike, it will do nicely and never go flat.
