I do not like the two seams in the rim.

The hat has two seams in the rim that act like a hinge enabling it to fold in two. The downside of the seams is it limits how you can adjust the rim. The material that makes the top of the hat is thin and tends just to flop on your head making it less attractive. I have a couple of other hats that have no seams in the rim. I have tried to spot them now I am looking for another hat. Having one seam would not be a problem but pics of hats rarely show a view directly from above.
Comfortable vented sun stopper. 7 1/4 out of the box. Drawstring for small heads.

Title almost says it all. Would buy again. Will buy for my gardening kid. Brim is fairly stiff. Seams (or little stiffeners)in the sides of the brim keep the front and back of the brim angle slightly down while the sides stay horizontal. Top is un-formed. My head does not touch the top and I wear it low on my ears. Awesome outdoor hat. I cut the wind/ chin strap off day 1. I also pulled the inner tensioner string out as it fit my head perfectly.

I bought this to fend of the sun due to another precancer removal on my face. It is great. The brim keeps half my face covered, especially the top of my head, ears and most of my nose. It fits the bill for Arizona in a great way. I highly recommend this - it also has a web material top sides which helps ventilate. This is perfect for a southwestern desert rat!!

Love the hat! The brim is flexible, but not flimsy.
The sun protection is there from both the SPF and the width of the hat itself.
My only gripe would be that it is a bit tight on my head at the opening. I don't blame the hat for this, as every head is sized and shaped differently, but if you have a larger head, be aware that this "might" not fit you well if you like a looser fitting hat.
The reason that I bring this up, is that you have an adjustable chin strap / cord (whatever it's called) that should keep the hat on your head if it was a looser fit.

My dad loves this hat! Perfect for and gardener or otherwise outdoor person in your life! He wears hats like this year round and he needed new ones this one was a great choice! This one has a very wide brim for even more sun protection, which is most definitely the goal when looking for a gardening hat. It also is UPF 50 which provides great protection levels in itself.
