I somehow bought a phone that didn't have a message machine (landline) and was at a loss for a day until I remembered they made separate machines that do that for us. It was here in a flash and was very simple to plug into the phone...It's nice not to wonder what happens when folks call and I don't answer.
This will record 60 minutes worth of messages, takes up a small amount of space, erases old messages easily and works basically like the ones that are on regular phones, so there really wasn't much to learn.

This machine is a good value and it works well for us. The controls are simple and the set up is intuitive. We get at least a dozen telemarketer and scam callers here every day. This thing really upsets them. I mean just how many Medicare plans , burial insurance policies, window installations and home / auto extended warranties do I need? Legitimate callers usually laugh at the message and leave their number for a callback.

I had my last ATT 1740 for some years, and it failed. I replaced it with the same. I really like this device because It isn't top dollar, I can hear the person at the other end when they start their message and choose to answer the phone if it's legitimate or just let it go if it's not. Most Robo collars and scammers just hang up without leaving a message, anyway. Paired with NOMO ROBO, this device is very helpful. Also, I can hook it up so that I can receive faxes as well as phone calls.

This is an inexpensive machine to go with an existing telephone. It is the cheap solution to having a basic answering machine. It sets up very quickly.

This is the second time I have bought this model. The first device lasted four years and ended with a broken transformer cord.

My only disappointment was the seller sent it by US mail. It arrived a week after the estimated arrival date.

Quite inexpensive but entirely adequate for my simple home use. Instructions for setup not the clearest, but good enough after a bit of head-scratching. I don't know if the other used ones offered would be this good, but I am happy with this one.
