I am a Ham Radio Operator and I purchased these for our grandkids to use. No they are not Ham quality but they are great for our grandkids. The distance I tested was 1/2 mile and they are loud and clear. Easy for them to use and boy are they having fun. No batteries needed as you can recharge them. They do not come with a charger, just the charge cord. I purchased a 6 port usb charger and they can charge all of them and two toys at the same time. Worth every dime.

I have had a lot of Walkie Talkies in my day, but nothing like these. They worked perfectly out of the box. Are very inexpensive, have rechargable batteries and a headset. I had one of my grandson stay at home and I drove about a mile away and they still worked ... in the city! The voice feature when changing frequencies is great. You just have to say, " Switch to Chanel 8" and then turn the knob until it says you are on 8. You don't have to look down at the fine print to read them.

The only thing you need to be aware of, is that each charging base has its own USB cord, but no actual charge port to plug it in. If you want to keep all 4 charged at home, I would recommend some kind of power strip or adapter that has at least 4 USB charge ports.

I bought this set for temporary use due to medical reason and it has been "beyond my imagination" in getting someone's attention for help in my -2000+sq. feet home.. With 2 small boys and their parents always having their devices on so loudly, I can get their attention very easily.
The boys ( 6 and 8) LOVE them so the set will become theirs when they move after I no longer need help. They are thrilled and have offered to help a lot more when they found out the set would be theirs ( so that has been a wonderful "motivational tool" ;) ! lol
The one drawback, I have found in the few days of use is that the green light will suddenly come on even when no one is using it - not even touching them ! Once I have my surgeries- and back home- this might become a problem in disturbing me when trying to rest - but that would only be a temporary problem.
With it being a 4 piece set, I can have one in several parts of the house . Or I can keep 2 in my room set on different channels so I can call just the boys or just the parents and not bother them all !!!

For regular use inside- I LOVE them and highly recommend this set. I can NOT wait to get to try them when the others go to the park ( less than 3 miles away) . That will be the true test for when the boys go wandering off through the woods !!! :)

These are simple to use but effective radios.
Clear report and that is at most volume levels.
Small in size so easy to carry and weigh almost nothing.
Again, simple features. Not complicated to operate, so almost anyone can use these. They are perfect for our purposes. With a fairly long range. Box says 16 miles. Although we have not pushed the limits of range, they are very effective through all of the obstacles in our studios. Several hundreds of feet of brick walls, multiple large machines and tons of wifi based printing and operating systems. No issues at all. Still loud and clear. They do not seem to interfere with any equipment already in place.
The radios themselves have no digital display, but each channel is announced by it's own little voice. So you always do know what channel you are set to.
They are quite loud when you need them to be, but they are clear at higher volumes.
We have not used the headsets due to other systems that we do use. They have belt clips as well as wrist straps, so plenty of effective ways to attach them to ones self. Not to many dropped radios at this point, but durability doesn't seem to be an issue.
They are 5 volt usb charged. Kinda nice not having to find a dedicated wall plug for each radio stand. You can use your phone charger as long as its 5 volt. Perfect integration to stuff we all have on our desks.
Makes communication easier in the large cavernous shop that we have. No more cell phones that we carry around...sometimes. plus it looks dedicated to the offices, not a personal item.
The real benefit for me is I no longer have employees leaving a client alone to chase down someone, something, or to ask for assistance. If I was a better leader, I would have done this years ago.
Over all, they work great, not too complicated, small and do not require the knowledge of HAMM radio to use.
Cannot beat the price that's for sure. Very inexpensive for what you get. Boils down to about 12 to 15 bucks a radio.
Hopefully they will last and stand the test of my staff. No promises there.
I do know that this type of radio will be standard issue here from now on. It really helps us serve our clientele more effectively and there is no longer a reason to leave individuals alone in a waiting room while you search for help or equipment.
We have only used a very very short time, but they have made a very large impact very quickly. Hopefully this will continue and they will hold up to the abuse.
Good product, great price. Will certainly purchase again and will probably use the same brand, but maybe upgrade. We shall see.

Shipping was almost ridiculously fast. I wasn't expecting for at least a week. Well that what Amazon had said...had them the very next day. Was able to put them right to work. Yay.

I bought these to use when we go camping. We go 4 to 6 times a year in the beautiful mountains of va.
I needed something that wouldn't cost me an arm and leg on batteries. It had to have great battery life as well as compact and MUST HAVE GOOD RANGE!
for the price I was thinking I would be getting a little better than a childs toy. Boy was I wrong. I've taken them almost 2 miles out with clear signal.
2 days after they was delivered a family member ended up in really bad condition and was in the hospital. I took my camper up and set it up in the parking lot. This hospital is huge. The kids are in the camper I'm on the 5th floor with spending time with the family member and we have clear communication back to the camper...... absolutely AMAZING. (NO CELL PHONE SERVICE IN THE HOSPITAL! I WOULDNT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH MY KIDS)
