I like these, but this pair is too, too big. They are too big around the hee) and I'm in danger of tripping. I have a knee replacement and got these so I wouldn't slip on the ice. Now I'm afraid of tripping.
I may have to give these to my husband.

These have been lifesavers. I had another pair with the wrapped wire so I thought I'd try these since I slipped a few times
with my other ones. I've taken about 7 hikes on snow and ice so I've covered about 28 miles. The only time I started to
slip which was just a couple of times was when the strap had slipped off from my heel. I was wearing klunky Keen snow boots
that I like so I just started to check the back of my boot every so often, no big deal to make sure the strap was as high
as I could pull it. Maybe those couple of times I just hadn't stretched it enough. But, no issue because I
stayed on both feet. To get to the trailhead I'd have to cross a wide icesheeted road and with these on no problem.
When my property was icy I'd easily slip these on and off my shoes to go outside and take care of my farm animals
and to and from my car. I don't know what I would have done without them. So easy on and off too. For reference
I'm a woman's size 10 1/2 and I bought the extra large to accommodate my big boots. They fit my regular shoes too.
I'll be buying another pair before next winter.

These aren't the best crampons by any means, but if you live in the city and walk to work across icy pavement, you need a set of crampons to avoid slipping and falling. These are not meant for mountaineers, but for people concerned about slipping on ice on the way to work, these are very good and affordable. Do not put these on indoors, as they'll scratch your floors, but the compact, lightweight design makes it easy to stash them in a backpack when not needed.
These have saved me from falling many times. I live in Chicago, and every-other block is a sheet of ice during winter months. I have recommended these to friends and co-workers who have thanked me for the tip, saying that these saved them from slip and fall injuries that would've put them out of work. These might not last more than a year or two, but the money saved by not having to miss work or seek medical attention for a nasty fall is far more than what a pair of these cost.
