After reading all the reviews on this and other recorders, I purchased this one. This baby works like a charm. I purchased a 2TB internal and a 2TB external drive. It's a simple operation to transfer from the internal to the external drive and from there to my desktop computer (it has two 3TB drives). It is not required, but I always make backup copies of everything.

Didn't buy this to capture gaming. I use it to archive my old VHS / Camcorder footage. Bought an analog to HDMI converter and hooked it up to this. Didn't want to deal with USB capture device because of software / hardware requirements. This works great for my needs. Ended buying another one (ER130) in case this dies out. So far I'm loving it. Highly recommended.

I like it, although I had a bit of trouble getting it to work. Basically, it was my fault. I have learned to be patient with it. I was going to the next step without waiting long enough. The result was that it seemed to just lock up. I put an internal hard drive in it to make it easier to move between locations.
Would be better to have at least 16 alphabet characters to name ...

It works well overall, Would be better to have at least 16 alphabet characters to name each recording. 3 is not enough. The pictures of the recording are very small. would be better if they where twice as large as they are.
