We recieved the vanilla beans very quickly and they are a very high grade bean. Bought a small bottle of vodka to create our very own vanilla extract. It takes a while for this process but well worth it.

The beans were dried but nicely soft and pliable. However, absolutely no SCENT to them at all. I bought them to make my own vanilla extract. I doubled the number of beans due to no vanilla SCENT, I assumed they were mild. After 6 weeks of "marinating" my extract still has no vanilla smell. With no vanilla smell, I have to assume no flavor. My extract is suppose to be done in two weeks - I'll probably have to buy some beans elsewhere and give it a few more weeks of marinating.

I've bought a lot of vanilla beans over the years and these are some of my least favorites. Pro, they're moist. Cons - though grade A they're small and not very aromatic. I make homemade vanilla and these are nowhere near as strong scented making me think this batch of vanilla is definitely going to need more beans and more time.
