In Los Angeles, it seems everyone has silverfish living in their homes. They especially like paper, so though you don't see them as an infestation like ants or roaches, you come across them in old papers and occasionally walking across the floor. These traps work. I put them in spots where I have seen a silverfish or two, and weeks or more later, I find one or more in the trap. Once I found a cricket in one! (I was sad about that, but it proved that they work even against an insect as large as a cricket!) They have a slight odor when you open the package, but that dissipates to nothing pretty quickly. Knowing they are non-toxic, I don't worry too much about that. They are really easy to set up. It takes seconds. Admittedly, I have never tried any other brand or type, but these work and I have ordered them twice over a long period of time.

I've used these spider traps for several years and they never fail to catch the critters. Just check them frequently, when they get a lot of spiders and other bugs caught, they need replaced.

These are invaluable for keeping the spider and crawling bug population in the house down to a minimum. We live next to an open field so spiders, little beetles, and even the occasional silverfish are the norm here. These traps are not toxic and we can tuck them under cabinets or behind doors where spiders tend to hide. We use them regularly.
