I had actually purchased another 2 systems because I didnt know this system was available with a training remote AND a fence. I actually saved $80 bucks by moving to this system. We have had our system in working order for 3 weeks now, so I will update around June.
A little background on my pup.... he's about a year and a half now. Rescue. 60lbs. Lab/Pitt mix. Came to us gentle and sweet with very bad manners. Used the bathroom in the house, jumped ALOT, ate out of our sink, destroyed regular house items, ran off like a bolt of lightening if my kids left the space for it at a doorway, and MY GOD, the barking wouldn't stop! We are very responsible owners, same food/bathroom/play routine, plenty of chewables, etc. After 4 months, he improved some, but I was literally at my wit's end. 4 kids, youngest an infant(never alone with her, but gentle when they make contact). Anyways, we have a bit of land, but I knew nothing about these systems, and began doubting my skills as a responsible pet owner because Rucifee seemed to be in trouble ALL the time.
Back to the product..... (training) I charged the system for 8 hours. It DOES have to be recharged on every 3rd night, but it's not a big deal since I'm also plugging in phones and tablets before bed anyway. I read the training bit in the manual, and before bed that night, there was already improvement in Ruce. By day 3 he was way more obedient, jumping 75% less, and wouldn't cross the threshold of a wide open front door, even with his favorite 8 year old boy playing in his view. The barking took about a week. I started on level 4, gave 2 chances on vibration before shocking. Yes, it makes me feel bad, but the improvement our dog has shown is remarkable. All I have to do is vibrate as a warning now and he heels at my feet... and I didn't even teach him to do that.
On to the fence..... I spent that remote training week watching a ton of videos, reading blogs AND the manual. I cannot stress researching and reading the manual enough. We laid the fence along the property with yard staples, then tested the collar around the whole yard before burying. My only gripe was having to spend 40 bucks on another 500 ft roll of wire for 40ft. Took only one splice to connect it. Easy. Twisting it at connector wasn't hard either. In fact, the only difficult part was hurting the fence itself. Even that wasn't hard, it was just taxing. Took a while because we used a flat shovel. He would dig, I would bury, then switch, over and over for about 2 and a half hours. But, it worked. I set tye perimiter at 2 ft, which seemed great, except for the back wall of fence. It went off on the collar at about 6 feet, not 2. I lowered it to 1 ft, and the problem seemed fixed. I dropped the flags, and began walking the dog at them, all around the perimeter. It only took 2 20 minute sessions of this before Ruce learned the flags and was off the leash, fetching sticks with the kids, but not bolting after them, strangers, or animals beyond his fence.
I'm sorry for the long review, I just wanted to make sure it was detailed and accurate. Overall, my dog is free, my family us happy, and I'd spend twice as much time burying a fence to have order, obedience, and freedom in our pet and family time. I will recommend this to ANYONE who is in the market.

I got this training and containment electric dog fence and really like that I can train my dog and also have it contained at the same time in my home area. I live next to a busy highway and see lots of dead animals on the road and don't wont my dog's to be one. I have had an issue with one collar and talked to the pet Control HQ and they are more help full to help contain my dog's. It has been awhile do to the highway was under construction and till the construction was done I could not barre the electric fence till it was completed. Now the time has elapsed and they still want happy customers and are willing to work with me to contain and work with my dogs at the same time. Thank You HQ
It works for my large breed dogs

The collar works well enough. The only thing I don't like is that if the battery goes dead there is no back up and the charge doesn't last very long. However it works when it's charged and it was easy for my dogs to figure out the boundaries. I really like the fact that it beeps, then vibrates, then shocks. Overall a good product at a very decent price.
This training collar has been great in training my black lab puppy

This training collar has been great in training my black lab puppy. She is very intense and super focused... on what she wants to focus on. Positive reward training did NOT work for her. We needed something to break her focus so she could focus on us. She responds to the tone most of the time and occasionally we use the vibration mode. Her behavior is better just by having the collar on her. This collar not only helped us with training, but also helped to break bad habits... jumping, playful biting. We did have a problem with the remote, but the customer service was very responsive and sent out a replacement remote right away. I would recommend this product for anyone that has a puppy/dog that they are having difficulty training and controlling negative behavior.
PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!

I guess you get what you pay for.
Have had this for approximately 1 month.
Was up in the air about this review (really wanted it to be positive).
After a full night charge neighbor found our dog inside their yard.
4 month old American bull dog.
Thought it was a good learning tool, but found our pup has learned run through the training fence.
Have spent at very minimum 2 hours a day for 2-3 weeks working with dog and fence. Very disappointed that the first time everyone in or home was gone dog gets out of our yard.
The worst part about all of this is the time I spent installing wire around 3+ archers and come to see it does not work.
