Worked for 5 months. Now spins CDs and doesn't play anything. Why are all small CD players garbage??

Save your money!!! This was A gift for someone that did not work upon opening the box.....it was a gift and I held it for a while. Sadly, time consumed return ability beyond 30 days - which would have nice posted on item page or purchase page. I would have thought to check it..
