I had a toy sweeper when I was a child...this product is comparable. It picks up very little dirt and is made of plastic. Definitely not the quality of the one from years ago.

For as inexpensive as this is, it works pretty darn well! I have long hair and I have to remove the roller and cut off the hair every now and then...but it works good enough. Probably wouldn't replace my regular vacuum with it, but for in between it's great!
