We have cooked steak, hamburger patties, french fries and sweet potatoe fries so far and all have been very good.

Bought this about 4 months ago and loved it. Then the gold basket started to chip off, and the black grease basket chipping off. Customer service was a joke no help at all They just didn't care.

I wish I had done more homework and read the comments of other purchasers before buying this. This knockoff brand cooks just fine. But when turning the food over, as directed in the instructions, the tray does not slide back in easily, and occasionally not at all. On further research here on Amazon, I see several other buyers experiencing the same problem. I reluctantly asked for a refund. I received the RMA the next day to return the fryer to Amazon DTC in Connecticut. I took the fryer to PostalAnnex and checked the costs for the least expensive method. USPS was more than $70. Fedex wanted $68.51 and was the cheapest of four carriers. Here's the rub: Tristar Products must rely on the fact that most folks would not pay the enormous charges to return ship an item this large. Had I noticed how far back this problem seems to exist, still without being fixed, I would not have considered the purchase. I recommend others check the product comparison and rating pages on the internet before buying into the idea that air-frying is a good thing. Of note, this brand does not show up on any listing of recommended brands, anywhere at all. Hence knockoff brand label.
