Absolutley a great rod for the price

Absolutley a great rod for the price. I ordered a 9' 4 piece 5wt rod. It is a little stiffer than I was looking for, but it is a 5wt. Casting with this rod is a dream, extremly accurate and I was able to reach the other side of the stream with ease where I normally had to struggle with my other 5wt 9 footer. So far so good, only had it out for one trip but I caught at least 20 decent trout. No 5 pounders to really put it to the test, but it held up great for the 2 and 3 pounders I did catch. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another rod from them. Just as an FYI, the rod I am comparing this to is a 9' 2 piece 5w Redington Crosswater.
Wonderful fishing rod

Perfect weight and action for the stream and small alpine lake fishing I do.
This replaced a very old fiberglass rod that had been around for @45 years so it was well past time for an updated rod.

I started to fly fish this year, and did not want to invest a lot of money in a rod. I am using the 6 weight rod with a Landon reel, and the balance and feel are great. The rod's flex is good and it is easy to cast. I love the metal reel seat, and th.e cork handle is comfortable. I am planning on purchasing a 3 or 4 weight rod fir when I need a more delicate presentation. I will defiantly be purchasing another Maxcatch.
Decent value

Keeping the low price in mind while I write this review, I think it's a decent value overall. It is very stiff/fast and not at all sensitive and the cork grip and shape of it feel very cheap. However, the 4wt 8'6" does cast fairly well for a small rod. It's a pretty good choice for a backup rod and won't you have stroke if it breaks.
