I have installed two other garage door openers in the past. I found this kit to be fairly easy to install for a standard garage door.

I like the wall button, it has some extra features on it like a button just to turn the light on and a button to lock the door so the remote cannot open the door. The kit also came with a key pad so you can open the garage door from outside the garage without a remote. I found it easy to program too witch meens its realy easy.

The motor is very quiet and strong enough to lift my old wooden garage door.

It took me 5 hours to install. Almost everything I needed was included in the box. The only thing I needed that wasnt in the box was some wood screws to mount the bracket to the ceiling to suport the motor and some extra staples to run the safety eye cable the way I wanted. And two bolts to bolt the arm together. Luckily I had some hardware on hand so I did not need to go to the hardware store.

I would buy this kit again.

After researching all "the best of" lists of garage door opener products I read the negative Amazon customer reviews and went with the Atom Brand instead. For price / performance it is a real value. As noted by others, the gear ratio is so low that the door opens quite slowly. And my garage door is all aluminum. It may say 1/2 HP but does not act like it. When I buy another I will definitely choose the 3/4 HP chain unit. Easy install and program. Do your research and read the remote keypad programming instructions carefully.
Regarding the Top 10 major brands / models - do your homework. You will see several themes: The same bad part reported year after year - the same bad service year after year - the same design flaw reported over and over. Or, German engineered - but won't link with your in car button and only one service person in the USA. Do your homework!

It works. I don't know about all negative reviews when there's plenty of videos on YouTube on how to do it. My only concern is that the manual provided was in Spanish, maybe I'm missing an English version but the videos on YouTube are very helpful. I bought a garage mounting kit because my garage in my home didn't have a previous garage opener. So if you have an existing one then this one works. Very quiet and easy peasy. I installed this one all by myself and it took about 3 hours.

I saw other reviews with concerns of customer support and clarity of instructions, but I purchased anyway based on other research. My time to install is 3-3.5 hrs. and this is the first garage door opener I've ever installed. The box came with one of the key chain remotes missing, but I called customer support and was in queue for 5 minutes or less. After talking to someone I was provided an email to send my Amazon invoice to and two days later I had the missing remote in the mail. No fuss no muss, 10 minutes of my time taken to get it rectified with exceedingly polite interactions. The instructional videos coupled with the paper instructions were fantastic. The bracket (part that actually screws in to ceiling) that attaches to the vertical device mounting brackets (that screw in to the opener, and are included) is not included, nor was it stated to be. Programming could not be easier, and took less than 10 minutes! The opener is dead quiet. The door wheels and track rattle louder than the opener. The LED light is about as bright as a 60watt bulb replacement LED. Over all I'm very satisfied after week of use.

Originally I gave a very negative review. However, now I am able to upgrade my review. The instructions could have been much better and would have made for a better installation with less hair pulling. And all the parts mentioned in the instructions are not for this particular model. But that is unknown to the installer who is looking for the part mentioned in instructions. The largest problem in the installation is in the door sensors. They are a joke and will absolutely not work per instructions. The instructions say to attach the sensor brackets to the door track, they are more than an inch short of doing this operation. I was replacing another door opener and the old door sensors were still attached per the opener I was replacing. It was necessary for me to disassemble the door sensor brackets for the Atoms opener and disassemble the original brackets and I was able to attach the new sensors to my old sensor brackets. By this time I had a very negative opinion of the Atoms Opener. One thing I discovered about setting up the Atoms is that in the beginning it does not appear to work properly. However, the circuitry in the Atoms opener needs time to learn the settings. With all that being said and time having gone on at this time the Atoms opener is operating very well. Thank you.
