It is actually 1/2" FPT in/out. Good thing because there is really no 5/8" FPT. It worked to bring done the pressure of my supply line enough for my water heater to work properly.

Bought this to use on our natural gas grill. It was very easy to install. We have been using this for about 2 months now and have had no issues. It works with a 1/2" pipe.
