it protects the lens but if you take a photo with the flash you get a shadow over the image.

I'd like to have a squqre lens hood.
The lens hood had my filter stuck, I am not able to unscrew the ring. I tried using multiple ways with force to unscrew it.

I bought this lens hood back in June 2017. I have been very happy with the purchase until one time when I was adjusting the lens hood ring, it is now forever stuck. My lens hood is stuck with the ring and the filter I purchased separately. No matter how much force I applied to try unscrewing the ring, I cannot unscrew it. Will highly recommend you to take this risk into consideration before purchasing, because the mechanic may have your filter to be stuck in it forever.
